Mehrez Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 From Di Marzio - Benevento are set to add midfielder Bartosz Kapustka, currently with Leicester City. Kapustka will undergo his medicals tomorrow with the Italian club. He is set to arrive in Italy on Thursday evening even though the final negotiations are not yet concluded between clubs. The likely deal will be a loan (paid) with a purchase option for the Polish player https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/benevento-set-to-close-deal-with-leicester-for-kapustka
Chico1958 Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 Lets hope he's not another Andrej Kramarić Who's worth a lot more than we sold him for now

Both with us, and Frieberg, including Puel who would be the most likely to give him a chance. Doubtful they are all wrong. His best chance is that he blooms later than expected. Kramaric was unlucky for him in terms of timing with us but Hoffenheim wanted him unlike Frieberg with Kaputska. Wonder if we will put a selling on clause just in case... 1
lgfualol Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 Would be good for him to just leave on a permanent deal.
volpeazzurro Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 Just don't know what has happened with this young lad. Following appearances for his national side he came with so much promise for one so young, many of us thought it an exciting signing! For some unknown reason his career just doesn't appear to have panned out, very sad. I wish him all the best and hope that he enjoys some success. 1

Whether its mentally as well who knows.

Or he just so happened to have one amazing game and someone spotted it and said they wanted him? Lamey was a great example of that. Played right back for us as a trialist v Sunderland in pre-season and a decision was made. He never played like that again after at any club by the looks of it.
Tuna Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 Probably best he leaves on a permanent transfer, don't think he'll ever get a chance here.

Then he really got into God, I understand.
LCCFox96 Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 At least, from a financial perspective, as we only paid £2mil rising to £7.5mil it's likely that, owing to his struggles with us, we haven't actually paid much of those add ons. Hopefully the permanent option on the loan deal recoups at least the £2mil and anything extra we might have paid. As others have suggested, a sell on % clause would be interesting here too. Keen to see what happens with this one.
Gerard Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 He's 21 with 14 caps and 3 goals for Poland after making his debut at 18. He clearly has something about him but too many managers haven't wanted to persevere with him to make me think he's just not at the same level as even the likes of Harvey Barnes. Kaputska will still attract suitors just because of his age and he's a Polish international so hopefully things will click into place for him in Italy. 2

Guest Col city fan Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 Never rated him any time I saw him play. Too small, too lightweight and never got the love in that he received on here (although that don’t surprise me too much on here)

I don't think I've ever seen any bulk of people really rate him to be honest, we were all hopeful that a highly rated young international would be decent and it was pretty quickly obvious he wasn't good enough. He went out on loan and wasn't good enough and now basically nobody is calling him for to be kept or played in the team. You're really not any kind of special visionary because you didn't rate him and thought he was too small. Literally everybody did. 15 9
Tuna Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 I think if he leaves we've only got Mendy left from the 16/17 summer transfer window.
MC Prussian Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 Benevento will be quite a step down for him, but a great opportunity to work his way back up. Totally different training facilities, an average attendance of maybe 8'000 in a stadium half the size of the KP. Bit of a crap team in Serie B, had one of the longest losing streaks in their first and only Serie A season in 2017-2018 (14 straight losses).

Was a disastrous window, when it should have been one of our best ever, with the ability to capitalise on our new found fame and Champions League football. Claudio, Rudkin and Walsh all to blame.

Used that in many accumulators. The day I bet on AC Milan to beat them and their goalkeeper equalised in the last minute was proper annoying 3

'Disastrous' would have involved losing more players (there are two sides to a window), dropping out of the division etc. A lost opportunity is not in itself a 'disaster'. In hindsight the wrong players were targeted. Not sure how that's Rudkin's fault. The only fault on Rudkin's part would be if he failed to land other, more preferred players, leaving us with these lesser options. Do you know that's the case? 1

I hope is was the case, as otherwise Walsh/Claudio had an absolute mare on their own. We did well to hold on to Mahrez for as long as we did but obviously the Kante release clause was a big error attributed to Rudkin.

I genuinely think we will see Mendy tried in the first team, at least in the cups, once he recovers from his injury. He played for Puel before he came to Leicester as a defensive midfielder in a 4-2-3-1. Really you'd hope that Silva turns it on and makes that his guaranteed position, but he and Iborra have been hit and miss. On Kapustka it's yet another bonkers 2016 signing. On the face of it buying a promising youngster for cheap and seeing them not work out is absolutely fine with me because the fee is not insane and you never know how young players will develop. But in this case, I don't think the player ever made a Premier League appearance and in fact I'm not sure he was even ever involved in a match day squad. Which really makes the signing bonkers because it must mean the coaching team never rated him. I genuinely think we were offered him after Euro 2016 and took a chance on a whim because the league win meant we were flush with cash and could afford it even if it went wrong. Good luck to the guy, I feel his move to Leicester has damaged his career quite badly.
spacemunky Posted 17 August 2018 Posted 17 August 2018 Funny, I actually found this forum because of Kapustka. My co-worker(who's Polish) knew that he had signed with Leicester and knew that I follow the PL asked me what was happening with him there. So, I outlasted him Best wishes to him in Italy. He does have some skill, but obviously his bit of success at Euro 16 was like with a lot of young prospects and was overblown. 2
