Horace Bailey…. I just googled Leicester City keepers and his name popped up…. I think he played late 19th Century…. I remember him well

Shilton v Banks (I only ever watched one of them)…. Seems to be open to debate on here…. Would be interested to hear the views of those 60+

agreed on on all other points…. I was just going from the top of my head!

Pressman has to be top of my list in terms of the entertainment he brought when he was lobbed from the opponents half after the ball bounced in front of and then over him into the empty net.

I have never laughed so much at a goal we've conceded at home.

I remember Walker had a crazy moment when he rushed out of goal and took out the player from outside the penalty area.

In terms of who I've seen, Schmeichel, Flowers, Walker, Keller and Poole.  In that order.

Kasper the best/my favourite in my lifetime. Flowers, Walker, Keller all up there too in that period but Walker the only one I have any real memory of.

Think Kasper is only getting better with time too. Gradually getting a lot better with his feet.

Only judging on keepers I’ve seen play.

Keller

Flowers

Kasper

Wallington

Walker

Poole

Andrews (in his early days)

special mention goes to Spider Kalac

I was a massive fan of Keller.  He made one save against Newcastle from a Ferdinand header that was one of the best saves I've ever seen live.

Paul Cooper Paul Cooper

So Paul Cooper came from Ipswich. Famous for saving penalties. Didn’t stand in the centre, and leant one way. Basically put the taker off and was the absolute legend of penalty savers of his time.

So we bought this legendary penalty saver, then we got Stoke in the Simon Cup.

0-0 and it went to penalties. He never saved one.

For me it would have to be Banks as the best, because it surely has to be!

As far as my personal preferences go during my lifetime watching LCFC it would be Wallington first, followed by Flowers, Schmeichel and Poole. I only saw Shitton play for us once when I was very young and I did not rate him as he aged, especially for England so I cannot include him.

My generation we all idolized Banks, adored Shilton and Wallington...but I post again, again not in order

Shilton...Banks..Wallington..though no caps for Mark.. These 3 steal it,and IMO not seperable, all 3 made consistently worldies, and

Commanded their 6 yard box,and penalty area. One on ones( like Yashin,Clemence,Jennings,Corrigan),made strikers insecure.

All, majority of the time, saved with their hands.top shotstoppers. Took easily corners and set play crosses and every single one, could throw along way out,and

Top distribution. Stood up until the last moment. Wallington best GK,never to be fully capped.oh yes all 3 made gaffs, and everyone of them

Including the greats in brackets, let the odd one trickle through their legs,or bounce awkwardly over/through their hands!!

Hands down, 3 best goalkeepers, ever to glove for Leicester city,up to now 2 best Gks,next to clemence, that ever played for England.

The next high quality group...

Keller..Flowers...Poole and Schmeichel,(Walker- just maybe) again I won't split them.

Again would of been also super at any wwide top club.

very importantly over 60yrs,we consistently had 98% of my footballing supporting life, even when in the old 2nd division,

Always had over long eras one of the best 1-5 Gks in The English leagues....maybe Europe

My choice is not just made of those individual many  special moments....but the all round career consistent week in week out quality!!

To mention in dispatches.Andrews,Fulop, Muggleton...served us well and delivered quality.

Second game I ever went to. Keller was immense that day made a number of quality saves. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/10198614/sky-sports-vault-leicester-2-0-newcastle-1996

In terms of ability Banks is our best ever - he's regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time for a reason - but in terms of achieving at the football club then Kasper should top the list.

I have always been unsure about Kasper but he's improved so much in recent years. Growing up I used to like Keller and Walker. Fulop was great for us at such a shit time too.

How much of Banks have you actually seen?

Nothing live that's why I said he's "regarded as one of the greatest for a reason".

I've never seen Cruyff or Beckenbauer live but I know how great they were.

When someone, in any profession, is regarded very highly it's usually because they were good at what they did. Just because I ain't seen A live doesn't mean I can't rate him as high as B. Otherwise we minds well just stop looking back at history altogether.

What no Paul Cooper. Held the record for most first class penalty saves.

...

?? Happened in the same match. I remember watching this. Wallington goes off injured. Young goes in goal and gets knocked out. Lynex goes in goal. Young comes back on then gets put back in goal. No concussion worries in those days.

Seen most of them on the lists live...cant think of  any other  club in the world that  has had so many  good keepers over the last 60 years

(poss Spurs...Lloris,Jennings,Brown) but Banks and Shilton were truly great keepers. Good to see  Schmichael deservedly nominated in FIFA top 3.

Wallington my favourite Leicester player of all time. As to who was the best ..i would say Shilton. In the late sixties he was worth literally 10 points a season to us and kept us in the top division single handed, up until 1969 when even he couldnt.
