If England's support was better I'd consider going but it's full of twats from shitty, provincial towns that go and sing wank songs like 10 German bombers, **** the IRA and whatever the most recent generic song doing the rounds is. I can't stand how the media cry about it though saying it's a stag do mentality but it's nothing like a stag do, the only common denominator is boozing and that's not exclusive to football or lads in Benidorm.

why do we do this to ourselves? Our media seem hell bent on making this as hard as possible for the team

I assume the Dutch will be resting van Dijk?

Bit like when we played that german club in a pre season friendly the other year then.

For me, it's incredibly complex to stop or change things.

There is a simple solution which will work to some extent - stop the selling of booze in these cities which host England or whoever. But the cities won't want it as it hurts the economy.

Can add that to the 'things that embarrass you' thread.

Quite annoying that this isn't on Freeview (BBC or ITV).

It should be a match the whole nation is entitled to watch, as it used to be, and not in the hands of $ky.

as it used to be

It never existed before so not on the list of protected events.

Not televised over here.

We do have a much anticipated friendly between Chile and Haiti though.

I mean the BBC and ITV used to televise the 2014 and 2018 World Cup games, whilst the latter did the Euro qualifiers not too long ago too.

I know but they've never had these as they are new so they were up for auction.

I see now, didn't know that, thanks.

But still think it would be been better for it to be sold to different broadcasters, such as BBC and ITV alongside Sky, in order to get more viewing exposure for this particular tournament.

Can't help but think it's a monopoly-win for Sky in this instance imo.

Our midfield tonight is awful. I think we'll lose this to be honest. Expect de Jong to run the show.

That midfield is dreadful, De Roon, De Jong and Wijnaldum will be licking their lips.

Walker at RB as well

Will be an interesting game though, Holland are starting to get back to their best again.

I agree but you could say that about a lot of sporting events.

The world of sport is reflecting society where the rich get richer.

But then we in most cases willing cough up the money to make these people richer.

The fact Chilwell is number 14 suggests Rose is seen as first choice. To be fair to Delph he's done ok the last few times he's played for England but there is no creativity unless it comes from pace.

I see big Virg didn’t need a rest then?

Bet they’ve had to chain Kane to the bench to stop him playing. He shouldn’t even be in the squad the **** is ****ing injured and pretty much the whole footballing world saw he was injured last Saturday night.

Barkley, Rice, Delph midfield doesn’t inspire much confidence. Time for Southgate to integrate the likes of Foden, Maddison and Grealish next season.

They're going to be annihilated. Delph has played **** all football this year.

I'm fine with Rice in that system. I'd have Henderson over him but he's a good anchorman.

Barkley and Delph is weak.

Jamie Redknapp: ‘For me De Jong is the best midfielder in the world’

Mate you’ve probably watched him about 3 times
