Yes, because Maddison and Gray were knackered. In this instance, Maddison is still effective. Against Liverpool we shifted Ricardo to RW and Ghezzal to LW because Amartey came on.

The problem is we just don’t have a game plan. We have some tidy players, but no intention to score goals. 

 

As I said the other week, if you’re relying on the ball falling your way then you’ll struggle. Our wins under Puel have been largely in games where we’ve looked poor. As have our losses, of course.
