You could give him a huge budget and he'd still deliver dull boring football. Liverpool couldn't wait to get rid and also the teams after, his greatness is a myth. Far sooner keep Puel. Those wanting instant success aren't going to get it. These 1 win great manager 1 loss sack him Jonny's are getting boring though it's not just Leicester, I think it's half the Premiership!

Least Rafa's got proven success with his style of football, two european cups with two different team plus he's won europa league.

Liverpools win was with Houlliers team and his first half tactics were hardly spot on were they. If it wasn't for Gerard and an overconfident opposition? If you look at the players he let go and who he brought in he was poor and squandered millions including a plethora of unheard of Spanish youth who never made the grade (Torres an obvious exception but it didn't need a rocket scientist to work that one out) Hated in the end by many of his players.

On the positive side last year against us,  his Newcastle side at least looked very organised. His style as you put it, more so than Mourhinho,  is tired and outmoded. People on here have in the main commented that they want entertaining football, if you think you'd get that with Rafa I think you'd be disappointed personally. I don't think our owners are going to suddenly sack Puel, bring in Rafa and spunk a load more money up the wall. Let's think, sell Alonso and bring in Aqualani, that was a Rafa special ???

You must be a great motivator to get your team from 0-3 down at half time in a champions league final against AC Milan and not just in that champions league final but also in the Fa Cup a year later against West Ham United when needed to come back from at one point 1-3 down I believe. I grant you towards the end, Rafa began to run out of steam but the season he left Man City had just broken onto the scene and going up against them for certain players was difficult. However you may laugh Rafa's time but he's actually won more than Klopp has, at his time at the club.

Do you really need a manager to motivate you in a Champions League final? I would have thought that Gerrard was a far greater motivating factor in that particular game and that Rafa had very little to do with it.

Klopp didn't inherit what Rafa had in his time though did he. For example, quite a few managers would do well with Man City's squad at the moment but how would Pep do at Cardiff without money? Rafa has done well with Newcastle imo but I still wouldn't want him here, Klopp I'd take in a shot but that will never happen. We'd only get Rafa because of the two he'd be a far inferior choice and not as wanted by many really top teams, I think many top teams would take Klopp in preference though. It's about the game today, not yesterday.

Rafa has never broken a contract in his career I don't think, expect him to leave at the end of the season but I don't think he would half way through even with Ashley taking the piss.

To break his contract with Newcastle means him or the poaching club paying £6 million to Ashley.

I just don't really understand the thinking behind the appointment of Puel. Surely all good managers come with a plan. Apparently they wanted Warner but he remained loyal. Surely the club should have a vision to sell to a prospective candidate. I don't think Puel is the answer by any stretch but I just can't see us recruiting a positive choice. Our record apart from Nigel and briefly Claudio is poor

Out of that list it would have to be rafa benitez, puel is not inspiring enough, its a tough job which he has on, evolution of team with younger players is good so far, so results will be up and down, but he  seldom keeps the same team!

I would give him a little longer, he does come over very boring and uninspiring, if he was to go then, they need to get someone of rafas ilk, and splash the cash to get a marquee signing to set the tone, these new signings seem a  strange acquisitions, Madison is quality but perria is never a right back in a million years, Evans in and out of team and no improvement on what we had, having said that, maybe puels hands are tied because he cannot shift the deadwood from the squad( king, James, benny etc.)

Eddie Howe or Rafa the only lot out of them but both would be difficult to get, even for us.

Puel still has another 5-10 games to get it right anyway. He had a decent transfer window and just needs to match a system to the strengths of his players.

Playing 2 very attacking fullbacks with two flair wingers in front of them and 2 slow CB's, was just plain dumb and naive.

We have the players to easily be a top 10 side, but he has to play to their strengths and 3-5-2 does that.

If he is willing to change his stubborn system for once in his career, then he could still do very well here IMO.

Totally agree. Problem is Puel is trying to match players to his system. He should be much more inventive, flexible and astute. Eddy Howe completely out thought him and that happened so many times last season. I also don't see him bringing youngsters on either

It makes even less sense, when it's his players that he brought in to play in this chosen system. This isn't now a case of inheriting a team and having to wait for the window so he can get players to play his system. This is now his team, and although I'm happy with what he has brought in, he simply isn't playing to their strengths and also negating other players' strengths like Maguire and Vardy.

I was just about to come in and post this :)

Dean Smith or Chris Wilder.

There's absolutely no reason why these people don't deserve the chance.

If it was to be a steal from a Premier League team then Chris Houghton as I want to see him with our resources.

Seeing as a few fans want him gone, I'm curious to see who people would replace him with. Especially considering the squad of players we have too.

On this occasion, taking all things into account, not sure how the wind blows, and if the wood can still stand my weight,so a trying not to sit on the fence,

Looking at all sides of the story,........

We are top top heavy...with whining moaning ,just love a sacking, notgm forest sabateours, hen pecking, negative crusaders

Who refuse to stop their insesent, down with the manager...posing posts...Not forgetting exactly the same infiltrating ,infuriating posters even

During our title season......

The silent majority will always win......So Puel, until he fails or longer when he succeeds stays in charge. So I choose Puels way...

Not because I know any better..but immature crusades show lack of any true support for club, and squad of present players.

They all deserve a chance, and not this every single game defeat group of know-alls, who go on and on,and on,and not once in 10

Successfully years have credit where credit is due....Some losers in life just happen to have these negative aurora ,and thoughts

about other people.......

I will be hard, when the time come...that time is a long way off....because Mr Puel,or any other manager who gets our club 10th and

above has succeeded...We are not a regular CL material,we are not a consistent top 6 side....We have not won the FA cup...

We have occasionally put out hands on the recognised League cup.

Staying above top 12  in the hardest(not best) league in the world is an achievement.....If you are soft in the head and can't accept that

You are the problem...

6 posters I recommend for good fair reading over a season, although I don't expect to agree all the time,is the real true measure of

This forum... @Col city fan @Babylon       @worthosoriginals  @Bluetintedspecs   @Suzie the Fox  @volpeazzurro  occasilnally @Swan Lesta

@Muzzy Izzet

In between the lines they are fair, have their own bias, but fair. I don't know one of them, only on this forum..Swanny  goes off on one sometimes.

There are still more of   an hardcore of posters and fans, like above .who might rightly question management team, but don't ask every 5 minutes,

after every defeat for the head of every player of manager......It's now become boring....So there is no meaning!!!

ffs  give the guy,and certain players until at least,at least until  beginning of December......5 games (not last season)  and Nego s  say they

are supporters....Don't make me laugh..!!!
