I’m a bit behind the times. Is smoking weed just a normal thing to do these days?

Every single day you pass someone who is smoking it, just walking down the street. It seems to have replaced people smoking Benson and Hedges.

Is it just the standard these days, is it just something that passed me by and I didn’t realise.

Interested to know. In my day it was just the hippies and grebos, but now it just seems a part of many people’s lives.

"These days"? It's been pretty normal for most of my adult life tbh. For all legalisation is debated it really is an inevitability.

Twenty or thirty years time the so called "millennials" will legalise it and make it an industry if it hasn't happened before then.

Yeah fairly standard now, sad I often have to put up with that disgusting smell just walking down the street.

Will be legalised within the next 15-20 years, too much money in it for the government and big business for it not to be. Hopefully it can be kept then in people's homes though.

Really all that often?

Maybe once a week I'll get the odd whiff for a few seconds as someone passes me in the street walking in to town.

I dunno, maybe it's about where you live. My neighbour used to smoke and in fact it turned out he had a factory up there. Even then the smell in the corridors was pretty mild.

I'm possibly desensitised to it.

I walk down Aikman Avenue virtually every day mate lol

I know some people like the smell but for me it's the worst one out there

When I used to use public transport I'd smell it a couple of times a day at least. Whether that's someone walking down the street or from someone's car passing by. Don't smell it now I'm driving and in my own little bubble.

My company used to work in an old factory unit, started smelling weed quite a bit and it turned out the unit above was a giant weed factory, the size of something you only see in films. Interesting day when the armed cops raided it.

When I use public transport I can smell it more often. Not so much on the street.

I know a few police officers who have kids who smoke it. Will be legalised before 2030.

I seem to socialise with more people who smoke at least 'on occasion' than don't touch it.

When I first came down to London, I thought pot was pretty much a student vice - how wrong I was. I've been to parties and gatherings in some of the wealthiest areas of Surrey only to see middle-aged housewives passing around a joint. It's absolutely pervasive and doesn't seem to be prevalent within any one class- or age demographic.

People love getting high, maaaaaaaaan.

Hate the smell. Rancid.

I work in a garage and occasionally you'll get a car that reeks of the stuff. Usually it's a late 90s hatchback with laughably poor mod kit, lowered suspension, cheap 3-spoke alloys, tinted windows. The customer is usually late for his appointment because his brain has turned to mush, and can only speak in monosyllabic grunts. I've got no problem with the government legalising weed, so long as the people that smoke it stay as far the **** away from me as possible, and that drug-driving is treated as seriously by the law as drink-driving is.

Probably smoking weed to kill the pain of the garage bill.  :nigel:

My mum lives there and she reckons someone down her road is growing it.

Standard.

I have to walk past disgusting piles of sick on the street from louts who can't handle their beers.

Swings & roundabouts.

Was this in Brighton last year? If so it definitely wasn’t me.

It was.

I walked past it wearing ripped jeans and blazing a massive joint and turned my nose up at it.

Thought about moaning about it on FoxesTalk but realised I've got more important things to do with my time.

Turn right into Sandhurst mate and you’ll smell it every day there too. Nipped our the shop earlier come back missus asked if I’d had a spliff lol (never have in my life btw). People just don’t care nowadays.

There’s a couple of young lads that smoke weed all day everyday that live on Sandhurst so I’m not surprised. Literally next door to my mums gaff.
