Nothing against Wolves usually, but some of the rhetoric surrounding them at the moment borders on hysteria. Their fans seem to think they’re Barcelona.

Phil Neville said on MOTD2 that they were the: “best team ever to come up from the Championship”. They May prove to be the real deal over time, but I can’t help wanting them to have a reality check.

Absolutely ridiculous comment from Phil Neville in my opinion. Heard similar on Talksport last night saying the top 6, or 7 if you include Wolves are too good for the rest of the league. What did I miss? They’re below us in the league & half our fans are moaning ?

Sure we got more points in the Champ when we were promoted. And didn’t 80% of our squad go on to win the Premier league? Maybe come back when you’ve accomplished that eh Wolves

You lot really need to get over the "best team to come up" stuff!

They're not saying we came up with the most points or are gonna win the league or anything. They mean we have instantly looked the most at home in the league in terms of playing personnel, the manager, results, style of play, etc. And they're probably right.

It's not just Phil Neville either:

Have been very impressed with Wolves and honestly I can see them finishing in the top half

They will only improve with more games at this level. I have to agree, best team promoted for many years.

Oh and well done for picking out one deluded idiot on a Wolves forum and tarring all fans with the same brush.

Bit like me claiming all Leicester fans are deluded because they want Puel out and Pearson back. I'm sure there's someone on here that does.

Steady on were not going to get into a pissing contest surely. Not unless you win the league next year anyway. ?

tbh out of all the teams/games ive watched this season Wolves have been the team that have impressed me the most,

think you are right about Wolves and the way they look at home in the league, they play some really good football at times and were very unlucky to lose to us,

for me they wont go down and I certainly wont be surprised to see them get a top 10 finish

I'm saying stop making out all Wolves fans think we're Barcelona and bullshit like that. I'm getting as sick of hearing that as you lot are that we're apparently the second coming.

As for the game, Nuno doesn't really bother about the cups. He usually puts out the 2nd string mixed in with 1 or 2 first team defenders and 1 or 2 youngsters from the U23s.

This was the team from the last round away at Sheff Wed:

Ruddy

Dendoncker - Coady - Hause

Doherty - Saiss - Watt - Vinagre

Traore - Bonatini - Gibbs-White

I'd imagine it will be something similar. Vinagre, Traore and Gibbs-White are the ones to watch out for if it's that lineup.

As mentioned, you probably have a stronger second string than us and you seemed to dispatch Fleetwood with ease so I'm not expecting anything out of tonight.

I'm joking mate. I'm certain most of your fans are level headed and most of our fans know the pundits and media are complete knobs, lose 2 on the spin and they'll have you down for relegation.  Welcome to the bullshit world of the premier league.

Decent side Wolves so far and catching everyone out at the moment. But the Jury is out until they get results playing teams a second and third time around.

It's only stemmed from your fans' attitudes, no one else's.

That's just it though it hasn't. One or two get carried away, the media bigs us up, and everyone gets tarred with the same brush.

Definitely "one of" the best promoted sides in the PL era but it's difficult to tell when the majority of the best promoted sides came early on in it's inception, the money was different and the top six wasn't the closed shop it now seems to be.

Blackburn's squad for their first season back in 93/94 had Shearer, LeSaux, Flowers, Batty, Hendry. Newcastle's in the same season had Cole, Beardsley and Lee.

Collymore's Forest managed 3rd place in 94/95 and Kevin Phillips won the bloody Golden Shoe for Sunderland in 99/00.

Our fans get so salty when any new kid on the block comes along and even remotely threatens our achievements of the last 4-5 years, no wonder why you read the absolute cod shit off fans from successful teams who can't handle it when others come along and do well.

Wolves are getting the plaudits because they do look at home at this level. They are a unit that's effective and possesses quality that isn't yet visible at the likes of Fulham, Everton or West Ham who have blown masses of money and not progressed yet.

We got a lot of praise the year we won the league and the way we played even when rooted to the bottom of the league, I'm not sure we deserved it but we did have the media on our side. Why shouldn't Wolves be talked up? It's boring that the same guff gets wheeled out about the same clubs each year. I'd enjoy it if they went on and got a top 6 spot this year and had a crack on a smaller scale to what we pulled off in 2015/16. We got the whole fcukin cake and ate it that year, we lapped up every ounce of plaudits. Why are our fans irritated about the praise they are getting? Bizarre.

Regardless of the line up this is going to be a blood bath, they are just starting to find their feet and we’re still crawling. I predict a heavy defeat. With the way we’re currently playing we don’t stand a cat in hells chance of beating these at their own ground.

You do realise it's not reeaaallly Barcelona we are playing don't you?

Didn’t Reading finish about 6th after coming up with over 100 points?

’Best team to come up’ is wuite clearly bollocks when they’re struggling to score goals.

Ipswich had an unreal first season once too, Marcus Stewart and Finidi George were magical.

Wolves have proven nothing yet. They've played just 6 games. Let's see how they're doing after 20 when the other teams have worked them out. Not to mention when they pick up some injuries and suspensions. Yes,  they knock it around nicely at times but they've only scored 6 goals in 6 PL games - only 6 teams have scored fewer.

Sadly there is definitely more than one, sure have a look at the last few pages of the OH Leuven thread if you fancy a laugh.
