Slight downside to me was the way the manager decided it was best to sit on that lead, inviting pressure from Watford. Luckily, André Gray didn't have his scoring boots on today.

Second half was rather mediocre, and it showed what a lack of strength in depth we're currently experiencing. Once parts of our prime starting XI are off, we're bereft of decent or good enough options.

 

Also, briefly switching to a 5-3-2 or whatever it was in the second half for a few minutes was a rather hilarious period.

Iborra came on and back to a back four we went.

Puel is notorious in France for being a “sit on it” type of a guy. I don’t like that approach personally but it can be effective. Ranieri turned us into a sound defensive unit that could grind out games and it worked out well. So expect to see more of it once we go ahead.

Made to eat my pre match words. We played really well, can't complain about anyone (although id have Wilf working on passing all week). Great performance and Puel got it right today. Those using the chances Watford had as an excuse to knock him, need to think about the chances we've missed.

Most of that was not Puel football it was Lesta football from somewhere.maybe the payers themselves.

He reigned us in a bit 2nd half but good work from .all .Just a point we aint missing Harry to much are we solid group of four centre halves and sitting midfield and then Chilly and Ricardo can

get on their bikes .

He's not going to win everybody over regardless of how well we do.

 

 

Listening to the post match on the radio "a random" calls in and tells us it was a very un-Puel like performance.  I turned over immediately after.

Puel's first game in charge we scored a very similar goal to Madderz' today

 

Every game he gives them s*** for not moving the ball forward quick enough

 

I dont buy this notion that whenever we score a nice goal its the players going against the manager, feels ridiculous to even type it out

I don't know why we are  having this discussion, Puel is working on a long term plan, we have the youngest team in premier, we have a solid defence and midfield, we just need to strengthen attack which come January or next season we will, but we are seventh in table with 21 points and people are still moaning!!!!

Don't get me wrong not complaining  but there was only 3/4 times we messed about with the ball across the back much more urgency and  direct today .Lets hope it keeps going

and we could be 5/6/7 which is I'm sure what we are capable of this year

No complaints with the performance of any of the lads today and what a great team goal and excellent finish from Madders! My only concern is the lack of attacking options from the bench but hopefully there are plans to address that in January.
