Superb 1st half .

Great goal from Maddison , Vardy running makes us ‘more leicester ‘

Thought we sat a little too deep second half ,better finishing could have caused us twitchy bums .

100% red card abuslute filth . Cowards challenge over the ball 2 footed , ref had NO CHOICE. An outlawed tackle ...

Good performance, and probably most complete performance so far. Watford came to have a go which enabled us to pass quick and counter attack to devestating effects in the first half. Those counters were lovely, and I thought a good blend of our old selves and evolving style. Look forward to seeing what we can do at the cottage on Wednesday :scarf:

Thought we were great today. Ricardo was motm for me. Outstanding work rate, attacking and defending was top notch. Also Morgan an honourable mention, a classic display from him. Great blocks, looked sharp, read the ball well. Good stuff.

Absolutely sensational goal from madders, haven't seen it back yet but can't wait for match choice tonight. Nice for vards to get a goal. Great performances from the rest of the team too - Wilf and Mendy running the engine, battling away in midfield fighting for everything. Great stuff.

A lot of that is what we've been trying to play, but with a bit more movement at last and finally taking our chances.

MoTM Ricardo, absolutely bossed it defensively, managed their winger well and used his pace to get Wes out of trouble occasionally (although, Wes was solid as well).

Evans is still the weak link, his best performance for us in much the same way Silver Side Up is Nickelbacks best album (I.e. poor, but not competing against a high bar) - does my head in how regularly he's got an unchallenged header, Mendy unmarked and 5 yards away, but just loops it back forward to noone: he does it every week. Add in how regularly he gets tight, does nothing to slow the attacker and just takes himself out of the game.

That's a damn funny analogy lol

I do agree too, lots of people seem happy with Evans and he was part of a clean sheet defence today, but I thought he'd be a much more composed defender than he's appeared at times.

8th in the league, one point behind ManU. At least -  let's beat Mourinho's team!

And people still want Puel gone, be careful for what you wish for cough Southampton cough...

Yes you're right, I probably picked on your post unnecessarily, and for that I apologise.

But I am sick of the 'Puel Out' brigade constantly calling for him to go. I personally have faith in what he's trying to do and I'm prepared to give him time.

No I'm not entertained all the time, but I'm happy with where we are, and where we are hopefully going.

Fair Dos. I've been a bit negative on him lately, but the lack of penetrations been hard to take. Today a lot better cutting edge wise albeit against a team set up to attack, we need to be better against the teams that defend too.

Really quite chuffed. Home win. That was a good starting 11. We sacrificed some safe play sideways passing and possession to get the ball forward quickly. We're used to the nervy bits, it's what we do, sit on the edge of our seats.

Albrighton! Still absolutely bemused that he cost nowt. What a guy.

So are we satisfied with our point total from our last 5 fixtures, all of which were against bottom half clubs?

West Ham 1-1 (13th in table)

@Cardiff 1-0 (16th)

Burnley 0-0 (18th)

@Brighton 1-1 (11th)

Watford 2-0 (10th)

9 points, only 5 at home, we clearly have a massive scoring issue at present, averaging a goal per game at the KP during that stretch (and overall as well). I think 9 points was probably the minimum acceptable for the squad over this stretch. The Burnley match really grinds, it was one we really should've won, that club has been awful this season and has given up a fuch-ton of goals, failing to score at home against them was shambolic.

On the other hand, we haven't lost since October 22, and we've allowed only 2 goals our last 6 games if you include the CC. Plus we had the helicopter crash, which undoubtedly diminished us to some extent. If we can keep up this defense, that wpuld be amazing, but watching the Watford game today, seemed they kept themselves off the score sheet rather thab us doing it.

I think next week @Fulham is a must win for Claude. After that we start a serious run of matches against quality clubs, quite likely Claude gets canned here if it is going to happen as points are going to be hard to come by. 7 of the next 12 are against top-6+Man U, all very losable, plus we get CP x2 which ravaged us the last couple times, and Wolves away and they are dying to hammer us. That is 10 of 12 very losable games imo, tho perhaps CP won't have our number the way they did last season, IDK. Not that we will lose them all, obv.

I suppose with this run of fixtures looming, I am pretty disappointed to have only gotten 9 out of the last 5 matches, beating crap teams like Burnley at KP at West Ham at KP are the reason we aren't comfortably top-6.

Just like last season , our failures against less talented teams look to keep us out of Europe. We absolutely must get a target man in the winter window, maybe an older proven goalscorer that the elite teams deem over the hill, someone we could pair with Vardy up top, maybe we switch to three at the back and slot him right in. Suddenly Albrighton's crosses would command total attention, and it would open up the defense a bit for Vards and our wings.

Blimey. The difference a win makes to people's perception of a game. Only skim read the prior posts, but largely positive

I thought we got away with murder. Watford's set up was very good. Woeful final ball decision making and sheer good luck on our part saw them throw away the game

Still. I takes it. I kinda love undeserved wins. rebalances days like Bournemouth - an underserved hammering.

Thought Mendy was magnificent

Ditto, we watched the same match. We've comically bad finishing to be thankful for.

We went through a phase of shooting our own feet too, as we p*ssed about trying short passes out of defence and getting hustled or giving it away.

Still, an important moral raising 3 points. I'll take that alright as we could be into a lean period this next month.

Mariappa and cathcart have got to be the most “fvck me they’ve been around for years aint they” centre back partnership in the league

TBH most would like to see Kabasele come back in - he was going well until a red card v Bournemouth in October.

Our main issues are up front though - we'll always be under pressure at the back if we don't score.

Away from football for a moment; The way the club has handled the last few weeks has been nothing more than incredible. The way they've handled the funeral, the celebration of Vichai's life through to how they've dealt with the support from the public and other clubs. I've never been more proud to be a Leicester fan. Today really showed what our club is about.

I think you fail to take enough account of the emotional roller coaster the squad has been on this past four weeks ..... unable to train properly for a couple of weeks and prepare effectivey.

Def a possibility. Though I haven't seen much of a drop off in performance, it feels like we have played this way for the entire season. Certainly we did this last season under Puel (and Shakey), underperformed against lesser lights of the league I mean.
