I think you fail to take enough account of the emotional roller coaster the squad has been on this past four weeks ..... unable to train properly for a couple of weeks and prepare effectivey.

Exactly this. Drawing that Burnley game was a freak result, we played well enough to win and had no luck. To go unbeaten through everything that has gone on (with injuries to two of our best players and a horrendous one for Dan Amartey) is fantastic.

Thought he did well today with papy - kapoue and dacoure are a very effective and physically intimidating  partnership.

Good with the ball, utterly woeful when asked to do anything with it.

Not just him, but the amount of times we surrendered possession without any pressure was horrific and he was central to it quite often.

Well said. Unbeaten in 4 games - 5 including the cup game and only one goal conceded. Hope they can use this is a platform for the busy schedule ahead

Not as bad as Chilwell.

Imagine trying to find a reason to moan about Puel after that...

Also, just listening to them talking about the red on RL, the ref had a few strange moments. Can anyone explain why only Maddison was booked at the end when their #14 raised his hands into Maddison and #21 had a go at him in a 6 of one, half dozen of the other deal?

I had seen that incident with Maddison, but in a sentence, to balance out the red card against Watford.

What annoyed me was that Maddison didn't learn from his sending off. We were 2 Nil up with the game won and he goes and gets himself booked with a minute to go. It was just plain silly, The reason he got booked was because he was the instigator and as I said it offers Watford something after the sending off.

Yeah he had an awful game as well on the ball considering his standards this year.

Puel was pulling his hair out on the sidelines. We were our own worst enemy throughout.

Great result. Performance dipped as the game went on, would of been punished against better opposition but it’s all about the three points.

Mendy brilliant, along with Periera, Albrighton, Vards and Chilly.

Top class from the Watford fans :appl:

Oh aye, I'm not arguing Maddisons yellow for a second, just surprised the full back (who was equally involved) and Chalobah, who came steaming in and gave him a shove, didn't get any sort of punishment

Given what happened after the West Ham game, I think complaining about not beating Burnley two weeks later, is more than a little churlish.

A bit of perspective wouldn’t go amiss.

Could be. Could also be some have a taste for some low-hanging fruit. I'm not exactly at the KP screaming at players, just thinking through the season.

Your right of course he should have got booked. But these are the type of things Refs do especially when it's not going to affect the result.

Madison needs to learn that and avoid the silly yellow cards as he could miss some important games for us.

Puel needs to take him one side and make him understand. Especially as he's going to be a huge talent for us.

So are we satisfied with our point total from our last 5 fixtures, all of which were against bottom half clubs?

West Ham 1-1 (13th in table)

@Cardiff 1-0 (16th)

Burnley 0-0 (18th)

@Brighton 1-1 (11th)

Watford 2-0 (10th)

9 points, only 5 at home, we clearly have a massive scoring issue at present, averaging a goal per game at the KP during that stretch (and overall as well). I think 9 points was probably the minimum acceptable for the squad over this stretch. The Burnley match really grinds, it was one we really should've won, that club has been awful this season and has given up a fuch-ton of goals, failing to score at home against them was shambolic.

On the other hand, we haven't lost since October 22, and we've allowed only 2 goals our last 6 games if you include the CC. Plus we had the helicopter crash, which undoubtedly diminished us to some extent. If we can keep up this defense, that wpuld be amazing, but watching the Watford game today, seemed they kept themselves off the score sheet rather thab us doing it.

I think next week @Fulham is a must win for Claude. After that we start a serious run of matches against quality clubs, quite likely Claude gets canned here if it is going to happen as points are going to be hard to come by. 7 of the next 12 are against top-6+Man U, all very losable, plus we get CP x2 which ravaged us the last couple times, and Wolves away and they are dying to hammer us. That is 10 of 12 very losable games imo, tho perhaps CP won't have our number the way they did last season, IDK. Not that we will lose them all, obv.

I suppose with this run of fixtures looming, I am pretty disappointed to have only gotten 9 out of the last 5 matches, beating crap teams like Burnley at KP at West Ham at KP are the reason we aren't comfortably top-6.

Just like last season , our failures against less talented teams look to keep us out of Europe. We absolutely must get a target man in the winter window, maybe an older proven goalscorer that the elite teams deem over the hill, someone we could pair with Vardy up top, maybe we switch to three at the back and slot him right in. Suddenly Albrighton's crosses would command total attention, and it would open up the defense a bit for Vards and our wings.

Since when is 9 points from 5 not a good return?  That would be 68 points in a season and as you say, we should have beaten Burnley.

I know that you're making a point that we have played some of the lesser lights in the Premiership, but even so, come off it.

IMO the reason "aren't comfortably top 6" is that there are at least 6 better teams than us at the moment.  Remember, we have qualified for Europe through our league position just once in our history in that wonderful, never to be repeated, miracle title win.

Eighth is great.  You really need to temper your expectations or you will never be satisfied.

Thought they all played excellently. Only player that dissappointed was Gray. He's great at the dribbling and beating players, it's just his passing and finishing that need a lot of improvement.

Typical Vardy first goal and great to see him playing like that again.

Second goal was an amazing  4 player move. What made it so special was Maddison winning the interception in his own half, then 3 perfect passed, 2 amazing bits of skill, and a brilliant finish later and he's smashing it the back of the net having run 3/4 of the pitch to get on the end of the move he started. I'm sure Alex Ferguson would have snapped Maddison up for Utd if he was around 10 years ago.

Chillwell was everywhere and played great. Pereira good.

Centrebacks were solid but we could have been punished several times if their forwards had their shooting boots on in the second half.

Good intensity and quality throughout though

Thought we did well today, overall we looked a lot better when moving the ball and playing it through spaces in the first half we cut them open numerous times through clinical passing between the lines and the two goal cushion was enough in the end, they came close a few times but we played with a lot more intensity today and the quicker passing and playing through spaces was a lot better than what we have been seeing.

Think Evans had a solid game Maguire seems a bit nervy to me and Evans/Morgan are a good combination Morgan goes unnoticed but has had another good game as well.

Mendy MOTM for me and Albrighton looked better today as well, thought everyone done well tbf defiantly an improvement against a good side.

Isaac Success was dreadful today. He can't even score with a bunch of hookers and a hotel room. Awful player.

Looking forward to seeing the build up and finish to the second goal later, don't think I fully appreciated it from the Kop.

Respectful from the Watford fans after Birch's address - shame they had nothing to applaud or cheer about during the game. Terrible performance. Quietest away section in years.

Loved Söyüncü's dummy.

Good point.   Sorry for the delay but I was just rolling round on the floor for a bit ...   no one had touched me, just having a quick roll.

Add a quick roll to your daily life, mate. I find it adds sharpness and focus to the mind. I have a little roll 2-3 times a day, they don’t let me in ASDA anymore but it’s their loss.

Away from football for a moment; The way the club has handled the last few weeks has been nothing more than incredible. The way they've handled the funeral, the celebration of Vichai's life through to how they've dealt with the support from the public and other clubs. I've never been more proud to be a Leicester fan. Today really showed what our club is about.

Absolutely agree, as a side note it seems to have gone very much under the radar but they’ve just donated another 1 million to the local children’s hospital under the new Children’s Health Partnership https://www.lcfc.com/news/924970/community-partners-launch-leicester-childrens-health-partnership/press-release makes me very proud to be a supporter of this club

We're eighth, we're in the league cup quarter final and we have the second youngest squad in the league. The Claude Puel fella ain't too bad.

Six more wins from the remaining 24 games and we’ll be in the premier again next season lol:scarf:

This is actually the original £1m donation but glad to see they've started to put it to use.

First match I've been to in donkeys years so here's my 2p worth..

Albrighton worked his nuts off as usual

Chillwell, Maddison & Gray looked fresh, quick and full of beans

Vardy still looked lightening fast to me despite some saying he's lost a yard of pace

Mendy was great

I wish Wilf could pass

Ricardo MOTM for me

Wes and Evans solid

Vardy was looking for the pen and got it - he's the best in the world at that :D

Superb goal my Maddison. He's still a bit lightweight but hopefully will bulk up a bit if he eats his weetabix.

I liked the look of Watfords number 29 who then got sent off

Watford were clumsy up front and looked disjointed. A decent team would have bagged a couple against us today I reckon.

Atmosphere was O.K. all things considered. That Vichai song for the last 10 mins seemed to be going all around the ground.

All in all a good day.
