John McCririck aged 79.

He's one of those people who seems to have always been old. Iconic face and voice, even if Horse Racing really isn't my thing.

Thoughts are with The Booby, now and always.

Transcended his field didn't he. Even if you'd never watched a horse race you'd know who he was, and what he sounded like.

I'd have thought older than 79. Like you say always looked old.

I met him once.

He was exactly the same in real life as he appeared to be on the television.

Michael Sleggs, who plays 'Slugs' in BBC Comedy this country died, age 33. He was was known to be receiving palliative care for heart failure.

He was brilliant in This Country, and hugely contributed to make the show as good as it is. I was really looking forward to future episodes with him in it.

Very sad news.

Absolute Gentleman off it.

Got a few stories I might have mentioned on here before.

Used to shoot in my neck of the woods and our driver at work used to be a referee ( not the notorious one)” my mates the ref”

He says he was one of the most generous, sincere footballers he dealt with, even in defeat.

Jonathan Hodge, composer who wrote the Shake 'n' Vac jingle has died aged 78.

There's some joke there about his ashes being scattered on the family carpet I'm sure.
