urban.spaceman Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Fousseni Diabate close to Turkey loan move - report Winger has made just three first-team appearances for City this season Winger has made just three first-team appearances for City this season Leicester City winger Fousseni Diabate is close to joining Turkish side Sivasspor on loan, according to reports. The Mercury understands that City have received loan offers from France and Turkey for the 23-year-old Malian and French newspaper L’Equipe are now reporting of an imminent switch to mid-table Super Lig outfit Sivasspor. Relegation-battling Fenerbahce, who already have City’s Islam Slimani on loan, had also tabled a proposal for Diabate, while French side Caen have also been linked. But Diabate looks to be heading to Sivasspor in his bid for more first-team football, which has been limited at City this season. The winger has made just three senior appearances this term, and only one in the Premier League, despite having played 16 matches last season upon his January arrival from Gazelec Ajaccio.
Lcfcwigstonblue Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Will do him some good, would prefer him at a Championship side though.
Guest Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Would definitely send him to a championship team instead. He may as well be at Leuven as at Caen or Sivasspor. The lad has some lovely skills but is far from the finished product and needs to get used to the physicality of the English game.
Tielemans63 Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Good luck to him in Turkey. Got to be honest, I'm not convinced he'll ever be good enough to be a first team regular here so hopefully he hits some form and we could potentially sell him on for a profit.
AKCJ Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 He'll pop up on a "Obscure players that played for us" thread in about 20 years time on here and we'll all go bloody hell who?

Bluearmyfox28 Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Diabate will never make it as a premier league footballer imo. He has absolute 0 football intelligence & is way too weak.
RowlattsFox Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Doesn’t suggest he has much future here. I’d rather him stay in England, he’s got ability but lacking something.

A Championship team would have to want him and I'm guessing they've seen him play!

coolhandfox Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Still young enough to develop, go for the club and him

Foxxed Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Odd league to go to develop. Perfect league to go to disappear. "So, you want to prepare for the English game and the Premier League? Why not try the Turkish leagues first!"
Sunbury Fox Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Not really sure what has happened to Diabaté. Thought he looked really promising initially but since the summer he's been awful. A shame.

If he ends up being loaned to Turkey or France, I wonder if that means the club has decided he's not going to make it in English football? Or maybe the player himself hasn't settled here? Presumably, if he wanted to stay in England and to try to make the grade at LCFC, he'd be open to a Championship loan - and if he were good enough, managers at Championship clubs would make offers.....we'll see, I suppose. 3 hours ago, AKCJ said: Miguel Vitor I thought Miguel Vitor looked a really promising prospect and was disappointed when he didn't return. The fact that he's ended up playing in Greece and now Israel maybe suggests that I didn't know my arse from my elbow....
oxford blue Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 If we were a Championship club, I think he would be doing much better. No doubt he would have had more game time and his confidence would be much higher. I remember his debut v Peterborough in the cup and thinking he had considerable promise. Stating the obvious, but a league 1 side is completely different from a PL standard. Although I am not comparing him to Mahrez had we first signed Mahrezwhen we were in PL would he be the same player he is now? (Perhaps Knockaert mwy be a better example of point I'm trying to make.)
UPinCarolina Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 This is a sensible loan, though I’m not sure a Turkish side will improve his game. Are they physical out there?

Yes he scores a lot of tap ins, but who do you think, thinks about making that run to be in that space to score the tap ins.... Sterling. That’s someone who reads the game well to me. If that was anyone else bare Sterling, you would be saying how well he reads the game & his late runs are amazing etc. The way the media & England fans slate one of best young players we have is beyond me.

Same as how England fans pretty much all hate Alli, Kane, Dier, Pickford, Stones, Rashford etc. and can’t wait for one of them to make a mistake so they can slag them off. Like Pickford with the Liverpool goal. England fans can’t get behind the team anymore and hate seeing the younger players coming through.

Don’t get me wrong I won’t them to have a stinker when playing against us. But who doesn’t.
