He's so much better when he actually has a half decent player next to him in a two. Looked decent next to Drinkwater and looked pretty good next to Iborra last year. I pity anyone having to play in a two with Mendy.

Yet, Hamza did not even feature even though he has been playing well and could play in the same role as Ndidi ... meanwhile Ndidi is irreplaceable no matter how cr*p he plays. Doesn’t make sense.

Yes I’d say on current form Hamza should  be starting but I think Ndidi is a top player having a dip of form which every 21/22 year old goes through

When the thread title is ALL CAPS, you can pretty much predict the contents.  And quality.

Like you have nagged in the past..opinions!!!

Who are you to deny somebody to express an opinion,he has a thought and wants to express and share it,on a football forum..

Arrogance...

tbf Ndidi has been better than Mendy, im surprised Mendy was playing after how crap he was last weekend and both goals(imo were down to him against Southampton)

rather have Hamza and Ndidi in there against non top 6 but he'll be in there for now since we'll go to a 4-3-3 or something against the bigger teams we play in the coming weeks

The difference in quality was clear to see today between Neves and Ndidi/Mendy.

Neves creates chances, his passing is exceptional yet we are stuck with two defensive minded CM's that only play the ball backwards and sideways. I'd love to see us have a player with similar vision to Neves in our side.

His passes are mostly to Morgan. So 76.5% is pretty bad ...

He has also made over 2000 so if other people had made the same amount their averages would be down

not as bad as everyone makes out

Ndidi thinks he’s a box to box player and tries to switch the ball to the other side 2-3 times a game and it’s rarely successful. He’s need to know what he’s good at and that’s winning the ball, it’s what he does after which frustrates me so much. He needs to keep it simple. Have him in the middle with a more technical player. Maybe because Mendy is with him he feels the need to try and be the playmaker also which from the past two seasons clearly shows he isn’t!

player selection will get Puel the sack in my opinion.

It’s because we haven’t got enough defensive midfielders.

How can anybody be surprised by his loss of form playing with a clown like Mendy? He can’t do it all on his own.

Agreed. Mendy is AWFUL

Sorry, but pretty frustrated right now.

Understood.  Obviously we all are.  Just maybe not the best time to start a thread.

be like everybody else and start one two minutes after the match

N'didi was great when he first emerged for us. I simply cannot believe he is as bad as many are suggesting.

I think he is being asked to do a role he is mostly incapable of.

He is a ball winner and a bloody good one too. He is not a player who is comfortable on the ball or making precise passes.

He absolutely would benefit from a genuine ball playing CM next to him. Pairing him with Mendy is very short-sighted IMO.

I also think, his confidence is shot. Similar to Maguire's who looks like a shadow of himself now.

I just wish Puel would play player's to their key strengths and not try to force them to fit into his system. He is asking players to adapt to change but not willing to adapt himself at all.

This is the single most ironic sentence ever seen on this forum  lol

I think the problem with Ndidi is that he started very well and we believed we had a possible future Patrick Viera on our hands. Infact Ndidi is a decent CDM, nothing more. HIs passing is atrocious and it seems everytime he tries to make a forward pass, he gives the ball away. When you add Mendy to the mix, you've got problems because he does exactly the same. Pretty much all of Wolves chances came with us giving them the ball whilst in possession.

If not then Puel Out even though he deserves a bit more time.

Ndidi provides nothing midfield. It is like he doesn’t exist.

Defensively, which is supposed to be his strong point, is almost non existent as well. I am pretty sure Maddison can do a better job even in that category.

Mendy is playing poorly as well.

Puel should be more adventurous and try Maddison and Hamza.  Maddison to try to create something from deep midfield while Hamza plays more of a sweeper midfield role.

They can’t be worst than Ndidi and Mendy.

Thoughts? How do we send this message to Puel?

We need to remember that Ndidi only just turned 22 (and i think is about 10 months older than Hamza, a year older than Harvey Barnes) but has had to do a lot for us. Not only did he take over from the monster that is Kante and done well in the defensive stats, he has to do a lot of the donkey stuff in a midfield having had about 10 different partners from Iborra to Mendy, King to Hamza, Silva to Matty James. He also has to fly out to Nigeria or other parts of Africa for International football. Things like this may contribute to him being a little leggy but I see him and Hamza as our long term central midfield and with Hamza there it will reduce his workload.

Lets not start lambasting our players when they go a little off the boil FFS

Perhaps he needs a break then
