Tom12345 Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 If not then Puel Out even though he deserves a bit more time. Ndidi provides nothing midfield. It is like he doesn’t exist. Defensively, which is supposed to be his strong point, is almost non existent as well. I am pretty sure Maddison can do a better job even in that category. Mendy is playing poorly as well. Puel should be more adventurous and try Maddison and Hamza. Maddison to try to create something from deep midfield while Hamza plays more of a sweeper midfield role. They can’t be worst than Ndidi and Mendy. Thoughts? How do we send this message to Puel?

Hahahaa yeah Maddison is going to make 80+ successful tackles a season, he'll be lucky if he makes 80 in his whole career.

KingsX Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 When the thread title is ALL CAPS, you can pretty much predict the contents. And quality.

Ok, maybe I am overstating it, but the point is that Ndidi’s defensive offering is not enough to compensate for his lack of ball control, lack of passing ability, lack of positioning, lack of wanting the ball, etc.

Tom12345 Posted 19 January 2019 Author Posted 19 January 2019 Ndidi can just pass sideways or backwards to Morgan. He is just interested in getting rid of the ball.

I think people forget he is only 10 months older than Hamza, no doubt he isn’t playing that well at the moment but no worse than mendy on current form.
Crispin LA Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Ndidi at fault for the last goal, trying to counterattack

Yet, Hamza did not even feature even though he has been playing well and could play in the same role as Ndidi ... meanwhile Ndidi is irreplaceable no matter how cr*p he plays. Doesn’t make sense.
murphy Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 The midfield is our biggest problem for me. Just look at the difference between the Wolves midfield and ours, We can't keep giving the ball away stupidly and so often at this level. We need midfielders that can pass.
AKCJ Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 I question the sanity of anyone that thinks Puel deserves more time. Been here for what 14 months now? Shakespeare played better football that yielded better results and he got sacked despite being a part of the title winning and champions league campaigns. Puel is a nobody. He can **** off and rot in the lower leagues in France for all I care. That's his level. If we get rid of him then in 20 years time we'll think of him like we did someone like Nigel Worthington, if we continue to let him destroy our club then in 20 years time we'll think of him like we do Peter Taylor. He HAS to go. If he's not been told to sign on yet then we're wasting our time. Puel out.
Tally Ho Foxes Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 He might have the 4th best tackling statistics in the league but he keeps giving it away. See their 4th goal, another poor Ndidi pass.
robbieLOVESthealmightylcfc Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Great tackler but he is woeful on the ball. First touch always is heavy, constantly plays passes behind players and slows down/stops our attacks
bfox Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Definitely needs to be dropped for a bit, perhaps he's burnt out and lost his mental edge.
Analysethis Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 We need to remember that Ndidi only just turned 22 (and i think is about 10 months older than Hamza, a year older than Harvey Barnes) but has had to do a lot for us. Not only did he take over from the monster that is Kante and done well in the defensive stats, he has to do a lot of the donkey stuff in a midfield having had about 10 different partners from Iborra to Mendy, King to Hamza, Silva to Matty James. He also has to fly out to Nigeria or other parts of Africa for International football. Things like this may contribute to him being a little leggy but I see him and Hamza as our long term central midfield and with Hamza there it will reduce his workload. Lets not start lambasting our players when they go a little off the boil FFS
