egg_fried_rice Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 Close one! Jonny May motm for me, another key contribution and he's been great under the high ball.
Finnegan Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 Credit where its due, England have managed this game very, very well. Played in all the areas they've wanted to and been ferociously physical in the tackle. Just out Ireland'd Ireland.

Countryfox Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 Our tails are up ... no way we are going to do a France ..
Countryfox Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 And this against the reigning champs and the team that beat the all blacks twice ...
Finnegan Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 What an unbelievable take that is. How did he not drop that?
Finnegan Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 What's been most shocking about this is just how straight up tired and limp Ireland have looked. England just winning every physical battle. After the first Slade try their heads just totally dropped, lost all belief.
Countryfox Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 Mako wins award for players biggest ears ... sorry ... man of the match ...
pSinatra Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 Spanked 'em in Dublin Fed up with everyone bigging Ireland & talking about them wing the WC......when they're good but not all that. Excellent effort from England (even though I had £20 on Ireland)
SpacedX Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 Nowell, Slade, Daly and Youngs were exceptional today and Kruis for Launchbury was impressive - whilst Laws was outstanding when he came on. That penultimate try was straight off the training ground. As Finnegan said, England managed this brilliantly in every department and stuck to their game plan despite the enforced changes. Great performance.
Countryfox Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 Great game. Great result. And very well deserved.
egg_fried_rice Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 England played like the last 12 months didn't happen. Very much looking forward to the rest of the tournament!

Excellent effort from England (even though I had £20 on Ireland) Sorry but that's kinda rubbish to be honest, up until today Ireland HAVE been all that. They are one of the favourites for the world cup, there's a reason the bookies had them nearly ten points ahead of you. See that as the compliment that it is, England were absolutely fantastic today. When you beat NZ the other year it wasn't because the All Black's were over rated by the press, they're the best in the world, but England were great then too. You could be one of the best teams in the world if you were consistent. It's just it wouldn't surprise anyone if you struggled against France now.
Innovindil Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 What a performance that was! Great game overall too.
surrifox Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 well done England - top work . Hope the injuries are not too serious
fuchsntf Posted 2 February 2019 Posted 2 February 2019 This wasn't a Southseas tour,or Autumn international...This was the hard European 6 nations our real bread n butter.. excellent England, against a good Irish side, who were made to look off the pace by excellent front-foot defending by England. our pressure, with some skilfully play, enabled us to make a very good Irish side, seem to struggle... But to be fair the Irish momentum, was Curtailed by some fearce front!one attack, not allowing them space,or stopping them get into their flowing rugby. I reckon the English team grew up today...watched out for their sloppy penalty count!!! today the team 23 players were man of the match...
Nalis Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 Well done England, very much deserved win as always, most deserved wins are up front. We just didnt turn up at all but English were superb. Despite our mistakes, the difference in the quality of between Ireland v England game against the Wales v France game was poles apart, almost like watching a different sport. For us, the focus is on the World Cup and the only grace is the fact we know we wont face England and New Zealand until the final, if we dont give it away before then.
leicsmac Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 Wow, wasn't expecting that. Fantastic performance. I'll be honest and say I didn't think England had it in them! Here's hoping for more consistency in that vein going into the World Cup.
StanSP Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 England are surely favourites now for the tournament? I watched bits here and there yesterday but any time I did England seemed more on top and ready for the battle.
