Anyone have any idea what happened to Mendy in the warm up? How long is he going to be out for? Hopefully a while!

That's ****ed up.

Although he has had a bad couple of games recently hopefully it's not too bad. Tielemans is the factor here, he would have done the same job as Ndidi, the fact is Mendy and Ndidi together gives us zero creativity.

Don’t mean anything serious just long enough to establish a new cm pairing so he can’t fit back in

That's the attitude. Loyal fan I guess. He probably hopes you never get to another game.

I like Mendy but his partnership with Ndidi was stifling us.

Wouldnt surprise me to see Mendy back in a midfield 3 once fit again.

Mendy does the sit in and pass to another player role well, he'd be wanted to just sit in the middle of the park and sweep. Hamza would be brilliant there too, especially with his pace.

He's been good for us overall this season especially after we had no expectation for him at the start of the year.

Hasn't been that good recently but pair him with Tielemans and he might be a lot more effective.

If Claude does go in the summer then I would think Mendy is gone too. N'Didi and Hamza are the preference for most of us and in the club too I reckon.

Never been one too post too much on this forum but for years I’ve followed it closely reading other fans opinions etc.  (all be it I’ve not always agreed and there’s always been a few that over react but it balanced out) but lately there seems to be a complete lack of understanding of not only our team but our history and more importantly football in general .. now our own fans hoping for our own players to have long term injuries. Modern football isn’t the only thing ruining it for me but modern fans.

Papy Mendy explains key difference between new Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers and Claude Puel
Midfielder says Rodgers has made an immediate impact

Claude Puel’s downfall at Leicester City was partly caused by the language barrier, Papy Mendy has revealed.

Puel spoke decent English but according to midfielder and fellow Frenchman Mendy, the former boss occasionally struggled to explain his ideas.

That is no issue for new manager Rodgers, and Mendy believes there has been an immediate impact.

“The coach (Puel) spoke good English but some players were sometimes not sure what he wanted,” Mendy told L’Equipe.

“(Rodgers) is a British coach, the communication is clearer for the team, who react better.

"Everything is much more detailed, it is easier for the group to understand his way of thinking.”

After starting 23 of City’s first 25 Premier League games this season, Mendy has spent the last six games out of the line-up, with January loanee Youri Tielemans taking his place.

The 26-year-old understands that this is part-and-parcel of football.

“I know that nothing is acquired here,” he said. “We must always be on guard because the competition is more important than elsewhere.

“It can be a little unsettling for those who find themselves in this situation, but we get on with it.”

Although this his first season as a City regular, Mendy is actually in his third campaign at the club, having joined from Nice for £13m in the summer of 2016.

But even now, he remains grateful.

“Going to the champions of England, it could not be turned, especially as (Claudio) Ranieri was there and had trained me in Monaco.

“To be able to realise the dream of playing in this championship is a crazy thing. I realise it every weekend.

"I arrive at a stadium, I see it is full and I say ‘wow, thank you my God.’

“We are now a distinctive club because the title will always be on everyone’s minds. But you do not feel it from the inside because people know that we will not be champions again, and the other players integrate without any fuss.

Was Claude Puel a success at Leicester City?
Yes, he built a young talented squad
No, we didn't progress enough
“You can have a laugh with the old guys, who are good guys.

"Jamie Vardy comes out with insults in French to make us laugh. He's a joker.”

Although City will likely finish in mid-table, it is a season that will not be forgotten following the death of chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in a helicopter crash last October.

Mendy remembers Khun Vichai fondly.

“The president was very cool, laughed with everyone, did not take himself seriously,” Mendy said.

“We were his family.

“He often rewarded us, took advantage of the slightest positive thing to offer us a gift, organise an outing. He liked to get together, it makes us a unique club.

“I also signed here to discover another culture, and I'm not disappointed. The marriage between England and Asia is doing well, the fans are open.

“The president has accomplished so much that the fans can only support him.”

Mendy also admitted that he is a different person to the man who arrived two-and-a-half years ago.

“I'm ambitious, but my long ankle injury, in my first season here, made me a lot of perspective. I have matured, the trials of life make you have to grow faster.”

I'm glad to hear he doesn't feel too disillusioned since Puel has left. He's still got a big role to play here and has proven that he's more than good enough at this level, will be an important squad player next season and hopefully more, would definitely get him on a new deal.

He's looked very good with his last 2 sub appearances.

Agreed, I said the other day he's the perfect sub when trying to protect or just fresh impetus at getting the ball and moving it on with minimal fuss. I'd love to see him pop a goal in from somewhere, he had a crack in the Fulham game that wasn't a million miles away.

"Mendy that pass was les shite!"

You get the feeling Vardy is someone everyone at the club loves, what a prankster!

I like him and hope he's still got a part to play. He's unremarkable but tidy, was excellent at the beginning of the season and has made a positive impact when coming on recently. Think views of him are coloured a bit by the perception of him being "Puel's man", so to speak.
