davieG Posted 21 March 2019 Author Posted 21 March 2019 Loved to watch this guy play bags of talent and commitment.
Will1981 Posted 21 March 2019 Posted 21 March 2019 Never used to tackle for us, then his 1st tackle in months against Madrid got him a yellow card and then got a 2nd for taking a quick free kick from the most bent ref ever.
Izzy Posted 21 March 2019 Posted 21 March 2019 A real class act was Parker. Beautiful passer and one of the most comfortable players on the ball I’ve seen.
rico Posted 21 March 2019 Posted 21 March 2019 Was behind the goal at Stoke when he smashed in the winner in the Play Off Semi Final
mod hero Posted 21 March 2019 Posted 21 March 2019 Loved him as a player. That bloke who works for LCFC tv is very bland almost couldn’t finish watching. He’s like a robot.

Travesty, that ref had definitely took a bung, MON was animated at the best of times but this game took things to another level!!! loved Gary Parker, a wonderful passer of the ball and a key member of the squad that brought the good times back to Filbo. Happy Days.

Sunbury Fox Posted 22 March 2019 Posted 22 March 2019 Definitely one of the most technically gifted players we've had at the club in my time. So comfortable on the ball and a perfect foil for Lennon and Izzet. What a midfield that was! I remember in the play off final v Palace, the three of them absolutely dominated the game against a team that had finished maybe 10 points ahead of us in the regular season. If we had had all 3 of them for the full season I'm sure we'd have ended up as champions. No surprise that they went on to be so effective in the PL too.
evil jack Posted 22 March 2019 Posted 22 March 2019 The Leicester Pirlo! Amazing passing range and accuracy. I used to love it when he'd unexpectedly switch play from one wing to the other. He's also looking pretty cool these days
La-li-lu-le-lo Posted 22 March 2019 Posted 22 March 2019 He was a classy player, horribly underrated too. One of those prayers any side would benefit from.
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 22 March 2019 Posted 22 March 2019 Bumped into him having a slash in an Oxford pub when he was our Captain. This was mid season. I asked him how the season was going to finish. He said we were definitely getting promoted, and so it turned out to be. Man of his word.
Kilworthfox Posted 22 March 2019 Posted 22 March 2019 What a player! Passing was amazing, and as been said before he switched the play unlike any player I've seen in a city shirt since, and that's saying something. Remembered fondly!
Voll Blau Posted 22 March 2019 Posted 22 March 2019 Anyone remember that unbelievable clearance he did where he was penned in by the corner flag facing the byline and managed to flick it up twice before managing an overhead kick? Hope I'm not misremembering that, but remember being in awe watching that on a season review VHS when I was a kid.
winteriscoming Posted 22 March 2019 Posted 22 March 2019 Absolutely loved him. Won’t forget the penalty against palace in play off final.
Ric Flair Posted 22 March 2019 Posted 22 March 2019 I got Garry Parker's shirt after the Stoke playoff semi final win, well my Dad did. He sold the fcuker an'all a few years later. Another iconic player, oozed class.
Aus Fox Posted 23 March 2019 Posted 23 March 2019 Still, despite everything we’ve experienced in our recent history my favourite City player of all time.

As we walked out with them afterwards to the car it wasn't until a pub about 10 miles later we felt able to cheer ???

I walked out the ground with my mum and dad, completely oblivious to the angry looking young men hanging around until my dad suggested I might want to stop grinning.
