  1. 1. What would you vote for?

Following on from the Leicester Fosse thread, it seems like a surprising amount of Fosse voters are still around. Considering how one sided the vote was at the time, I wondered how people would vote on the subject now.

What would get your vote if it was held again tomorrow at the Arsenal game, and why?

I’d vote Fosse today. And if I’m honest it’s because I’m so fed up of Man City being referred to as ‘City’ by the main stream media. It really started to get under my skin!

City. Fosse is a brilliant and unique name, and I often think it's a shame we did change.

But we did. In 1919. And all the fantastic history we've had since that date has been as 'City'. To swap back now would be for all the wrong reasons, as it would have been when the stadium vote was held.

Umm... which one were we when we won the top flight of English football? That one.

But what about all our songs that we sing about " Leicester City"

Oh hang on a minute...

Also, how long would it be before one clubs set of fans hilariously tagged us "Leicester Dross"

Yeah I hate that too. I'm watching sky sports news right now and apparently City are at home to Leicester on Monday night football next week. How can we be at home to ourselves?

I like the idea of us having a unique and historical name and I voted for Fosse back in 2003. However, we're a totally different club now and we've achieved the impossible as City.

It's worse when you get Leicester fans referring to Man City as City.

Unpopular opinion: we're Leicester, they're City, I'm comfortable with that.

People so triggered by other teams, one particularly, being called "City" that you'd change the entire fabric, history and most important elements of our club.

I think that says a lot more about you, to be honest.

Being different to Man City isn't a good enough reason to change: For one thing another team shouldn't dictate our identity, for another there are tons more teams with the City tag so it's a bit redundant.

Don't get why people get so upset about it.

People post on here "United" when referring to Man United.

I'd be more upset with the fact the mainstream media just call us "Leicester".

Oh, as for the poll, I'd vote City. Fosse is unique but we've come too far now to change.

Yeah because we're not Fosse.

If I'm talking to another Leicester fan or a Leicester local I'll probably say City. I'll often refer to going to the KP as going to watch City or going down City or whatever.

But I have no issue with football media referring to us as Leicester and them as City or telling neutral strangers that I'm a Leicester fan as opposed to a City fan.

It just makes more sense. They're called City predominantly to distinguish them from United, we're called Leicester to distinguish us from every other club called City. Their nickname is even the Citizens in reference to their name.

I always roll my eyes when Leicester fans get touchy about that to be honest. Its just convenient naming. Football fans, anything to get touchy and defensive about sometimes.

Edit: I say Leicester fans, I actually mean Foxestalk. I don't actually know in person many if any Leicester fans that have a cry if you call Man City, City.

Leicester is a rugby club. However, Leicester City is a football club.

I'm sure a quick look at the shape of the ball they're playing with would soon end any confusion on that front...

Tigers are a rugby club.

Literally nobody just calls Tigers "Leicester."
