Freeman's Wharfer Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 Can’t have a name different to that one etched on the Premier League trophy. If we ever needed a Phoenix club then the Fosse name is ready and waiting however.
Nick Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 1 hour ago, Finnegan said: Yeah because we're not Fosse. If I'm talking to another Leicester fan or a Leicester local I'll probably say City. I'll often refer to going to the KP as going to watch City or going down City or whatever. But I have no issue with football media referring to us as Leicester and them as City or telling neutral strangers that I'm a Leicester fan as opposed to a City fan. It just makes more sense. They're called City predominantly to distinguish them from United, we're called Leicester to distinguish us from every other club called City. Their nickname is even the Citizens in reference to their name. I always roll my eyes when Leicester fans get touchy about that to be honest. Its just convenient naming. Football fans, anything to get touchy and defensive about sometimes. Edit: I say Leicester fans, I actually mean Foxestalk. I don't actually know in person many if any Leicester fans that have a cry if you call Man City, City. I’m not touché mate.

If we become Leicester Fosse will it free up £350M a week for Matty James's medical costs?

No because if we did become fosse we would be told we don't know what were doing and have to keep voting until the RIGHT result.
Sir Shep Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 We should call ourselves Leicester Monday in honour of Monday the 2nd of May when Chelsea beat spurs and handed us the title, apparently!
Paninistickers Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 Surely this City/Man City thing is easy to decipher. When I'm.in Leicester and/or talking to a fellow City fan, then City are City. If I'm outside of Leicester, I refer to City as Leicester. I always refer to Man City as Man City. And Man U as Man U. (except for the Manchester derby when I might, for convenience, briefly refer to the match as United v City so as to avoid saying Man twice) :-) Edited to add: I'd vote Fosse Another edit to add that I never, ever, ever refer to us as the 'Foxes' . That clown Stringer should take note.

People do realise why they get referred to as City and we don’t? It's the same reason we get called the foxes or do people have a problem with that. Perhaps we should complain about Lincoln City being LCFC as well.
AyewJoking Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 City. Wouldnt lose any sleep if we did change to Fosse but its hardly a big issue is it? Lets swop the kop and family, introduce safe standing, pearson statue and balti pies. Then worry about what our name should be..

And if I’m honest it’s because I’m so fed up of Man City being referred to as ‘City’ by the main stream media. It really started to get under my skin! They were never known as 'city' before they were bank rolled. **** sky and the rest.
murphy Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 I voted Fosse and would do again. Leicester City Fosse? Up the fossils!
ScouseFox Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 finners is right tbf, it’s two team cities that care about the suffix of the club. we’re leicester. places like bristol, nottingham, manchester or sheffield refer to their teams as city or rovers or county because there’s two teams.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 FOSSE I say. Love the grass routes of our club. City is a boring ten a penny name. What idiots decided to change it? I will give them a right bollocking when I step through the "Pearly Gates"

HybridFox Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 I'm too young to remember the vote or any proposals to change the name back. But I probably would chosen Leicester Fosse. It would have been nice to have something unique, much like Sheffield Wednesday. I never really refer to us as City anyway, am more likely to call us the Foxes. I think it would be too late now given what we've achieved since. But I wouldn't be against it if the debate ever arose again.
