KingsX Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 (to continue a digression in the PL thread…) Red Café seems sound, with mostly informed and self-aware posters. @Manini pointed out Man U support have always been knowledgeable, but humble only since the post-SAF comedown. Theirs is a forum I get some knowledge back from. The Fighting Cock may be an anomaly, since it puts the lunatic fringe of Spurs support front and center. But it does fit the club. One word to describe THFC would be schizophrenia. Their upwards curve has not stopped them constantly crashing between lofty highs and pathetic lows, flat track bullies to serial bottlers and back. If half the posters appear to be paranoid schizophrenics, maybe the years of following Spurs are partly to blame. A top forum for entertainment value. (Just wash your hands after.) @Footballwipe noted Bluemoon was very level-headed until recent success, and he’s right, there’s now as many conspiracy-theorists as TFC or RAWK. A big club but not the most rewarding forum. So … forums … do they reflect the clubs, or just a self-selected part of their fanbases? Or just the historical point the club is at? Wonder what FT says about us to supporters of other clubs?

yorkie1999 Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 Not much, can’t see many of our players being paranoid about what other players think of them.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 I imagine most football forums are the same, it's just circumstances. Always going to get the odd nutter
Stadt Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 As we've got better FoxesTalk has gotten more boring. It's a more knowledgeable forum these days but it's less fun.

Koke Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 Players clearly do read their Twitter feed, I don't think they aren't aware of the perception fans have of them. I'm sure Luke Shaw knows many United fans think he's a fat useless cvnt. Im sure the younger players like Hamza and Barnes read forums but the older ones like Vardy probably not. The smaller the club the less agendas and fanboys there are. I dived into Barcelona Forum/Twitter after their defeat to Liverpool, only to see deep divisions. Messi cults vs Rakitic fanboys vs this group and that group. You won't see Maddison v Vardy fanboys on here because they don't exist. Success breeds a arrogance, that's just a fact of life.

A big club but not the most rewarding forum. Not a surprise. They're deluded. Think everyone is against them. Moaning about all our fouls on Monday when they were all superb. Evans' tackle on Sterling was perfect, a brilliant tackle. As for the Ranieri song again. Weirdos.
Koke Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 As for RedCafe, it's probably one of the better sites, whereas Blue Moon is full of conspiracy theories; everyone is out to get them. The delusion is fantastic. Who the **** is out to get Man City, a small club who won the lottery. I enjoy watching Man City but I couldn't be more indifferent to a football club if I tried.
Nick Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 I’m pretty biased as an old FT member but in all fairness I don’t see any or many better run fan forums out there.

Lurked at Liverpool and Celtic all the time. This is the first I finally decided to participate in. Couldn't shut up any longer. This place in terms of format, ease of use, and how its run are absolutely first class. Even for a Luddite like me.

Gamble92 Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 Not much, tell you what though - when i go on other forums, i do appreciate that this one doesnt look like its from 1995
fuchsntf Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 Our forum is Brilliant...it's just like me..!!! Lost in Space...
Stadt Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 Just looked at Burnley's forums and they're all poverty as **** so yes, the theory is correct.
Dahnsouff Posted 10 May 2019 Posted 10 May 2019 What gets me about Bluemoon is that they b*tch and moan about “victimpool” (nee RAWK) but fail not notice their own “victim-hood”

Sadly that is the new generation of most fans. We are at the point where people support players, not clubs or teams. 8 hours ago, Stadt said: Just looked at Burnley's forums and they're all poverty as **** so yes, the theory is correct. Guest Posted 10 May 2019 Posted 10 May 2019 If football sites represent their teams wouldn't that infer that all football sites for a team are similar? FT, Talking Balls, Bentley's roof ....? I'd suggest that fans move to the different sites and finally end up with one that they feel comfortable with (or in some cases the only one that will accept them and let them post ) I know that I've been a member of at least 5 different Leicester websites over the years.

Totally agree. This is probably the only active forum i'm on now. Checked my profile to see how long i've been on here for and its 2007. Jesus christ.. not even 2000 posts in over 12 years. Absolute lurker

So, you're saying that your posts are restricted on FT and you've been banned from 4 other LCFC sites?
Guest Posted 10 May 2019 Posted 10 May 2019 7 minutes ago, Alf Bentley said: So, you're saying that your posts are restricted on FT and you've been banned from 4 other LCFC sites? Alf, have you never been banned from anywhere or anything over your incredibly long and interesting life? I've been banned from many more than 4 web sites over the years including this one but I've also not been banned from many other websites and I'm still on many websites (not just football but basketball, US Football etc...) As for LCFC websites I've been on them since before these types of forums even existed, back in the dial up days of the end 80's beginning 90's. Some of the sites just ceased to exist without ever banning me - and just to be clear a ban doesn't mean I'm a bad guy, it just means that influential people don't want me sharing my views where's that conspiracist poster (bone dog or something) when I need him. anyway the point I was making is that since the LCFC websites out there are quite different then the premise that the online websites reflect the club or even the supporters is not a correct one. Other than the fact that all clubs have a wide cross section of supporters with very differing views.
