I love when people use 'he works hard' as a positive when discussing a player, especially when they can't offer anything else. In that case should we not just bring the likes of Iain Hume, Dean Hammond and Steve Howard back into the squad?

Say what you like about the tackle, we were not getting anything from that game the way we set up. Of course going down to 10 men doesn't help, but we didn't lose because of Perez.

Tielemans, N'didi, Pereira, Thomas, Vardy and especially Soyuncu put in performances that were as much to do with us losing.

Setting up with Pereira effectively playing right wing, and so having 3 at the back, against the best counter attacking team in the league, with the likes of Amartey playing (who will always concede possession), was suicide from Rodgers.

Don't just point the finger at Perez because it's easier to blame him than acknowledge we have serious problems.

But whatever problems we have was nonetheless COMPOUNDED by "the tackle" tonight. That's just FACTUAL.

Compare the amount of opportunity this moron gets to how many Praet or someone like that gets.

Let’s hope this is the final straw for brendan and Perez becomes a cup player for us and nothing else.

Yeah, maybe one of Amartey's passes to Soyuncu would have been hit too hard, rebounded off soyuncu's knee, fallen to Rice who would have shot on goal, for it to be blocked by Ndidi and loop over Fabianski's head and in.

Yeah, I'll leave speculation and fantasy to others, and just stick to FACTS!

There is a silver lining to his sending off. He may get banned for a few games and it will force Rogers to play someone else…anyone else! When Perez plays it feels like we are playing with10 men!

Like the fact we were terrible long before the red card and our issues run deeper than Ayoze Perez?

I’d probably just give it Albrighton mate, he fits the mantra and is already a squad member. Plus I think Hume ,Hammond and Howard are retired.

Exactly what part of our problems were COMPOUNDED by the red card are you struggling with?

No idea why we persist with him. He's just not very good. No idea how he's carved out a career in the PL, his level is probably a bottom half La Liga side, if we're being generous.

A dead dog wouldn't be more dead if it got a bullet to the head, would it?

So why put so much emphasis on it?

Harsh to classify Perez as a dead dog, but I will leave that to you and stick to real-life FACTS!

Think it was a foul on him but you can’t excuse his tackle next, if salah gets that from behind he falls over and gets a foul no bother.

he is our weak link in the 11 when all fit, we must sign a winger in the last 8 days or he starts every game still!

i think this every time rodgers plays him. we are going into matches with a man less. baffles me why he isn't starting albrighton over him, baffles me even more we spent 30m on a brick

Define worse off for me? I Celebrated Fryatt scoring a last minute winner from a Barry Hayles flick on as much as a last minute winner in the prem. Or Steve Howard last minute against Leeds.

The football ability wasn’t the same standard but still have the same enjoyment from it chap.

A bit harsh to call me pathetic and an idiot for an honest opinion 😂

Mate I was just twatting about but the mods deleted it all, so I probably did go overboard.

Because of the so-called "lighter touch" officiating, it is unlikely the ref would have called a foul on him even if he went down (Madders did a few times earlier and nothing was called), but in fairness to Ayoze I also thought that was a foul and if it had been correctly called the play would have been dead and likely nothing thereafter would have followed (I personally really did not think it was a "tackle" but instead trying to shield the ball and it ending up poorly). It was rotten luck, that unfortunately served to compound and exacerbate our problems on the night.

At the end of the day he's a player that's more suited for a side fighting relegation, he wont turn up most weeks but he will still put in a shift and once in a while he'll turn up and win you a game. That's what his level is, he should be nowhere near a team that wants to be consistently winning games week in week out to compete for european places.

He’s the last thing a team in a relegation battle needs but it is his level.
