Friendly Spurs Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 Hi guys, After some parking advice for Saturdays game if possible. Best places to park? Don’t mind a walk if don’t get stuck in traffic. Have previously parking at freeman’s common but took nearly an hour to get out last time. any advice would be great! Ps hoping for a good game cheers
DerbyshireFox Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 Newarke street is where I usually go, bit of a pain now it’s in a one way system. Certainly quicker than 1hr to get out. Usually ends up at £4 on a match day depending how quick you get there. Can pay on card. About 15-20 minute walk

Ps hoping for a good game cheers I regularly use parking off Narborough Road. For Saturday lunch or afternoon games, parking is restricted to before the railway bridge (after that is limited to 3 hours max so it's a bit tight unless you arrive 30 mins before KO). When you get to the KFC on Narborough Rd, try your luck around there, all side streets are free parking. Probably a good 20 min walk but traffic back onto the M1/M69 is normally very quick. You'll be on the motorway within 10 minutes from leaving in the car.

If you do go before the railway bridge, parking a street or two up from Narborough Road normally gets you away from the restrictions. But it's great place to park as gives a quickish walk in and you can get out fairly easily.
ozleicester Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 I used to park around Wilberforce rd... 15-20 min walk then a clear runout
bmt Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 Also if you do have to park on Freeman's Common get there early and use the last car park on the right once you've gone round the full circle, usually quite quick.
Mint23 Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 You could get the park and ride from Enderby, it’s only a few hundred yards off the M1 and drops off/picks up outside the LRI hospital which is just a few minutes walk from the King Power.

Walk does you good, too!

Ps hoping for a good game cheers When parking, I'd recommend talking the talk about using 1st gear, spending most of the time in 2nd gear, but ultimately finishing by accidentally selecting 3rd, stalling, leaving your beautiful car just outside of the space. That'll do.
HighPeakFox Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 I guess another option is Market Harborough, and take the train in. No idea if that's viable or sensible. Likewise the local southern stopping service.
ianormondroyd Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 Whittier Rd/Copinger Rd are both pretty good and with no restrictions. About 20 minutes walk and no queues afterwards. Good for the M1 too, (approx 10 mins drive)
fuchsntf Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 Spur of the moment..!! Whitehart- lane, Now its a parkinglot!!! Then get a train and walk...

SystonFox Posted 17 September 2019 Posted 17 September 2019 I use the whocamethirdinatwohorserace pub car park. They sell beer by the bottle. We’ve got plenty. You have none. WES WES MORGAN

Likewise the local southern stopping service. Train from Harborough's north of a tenner these days, then you'd have a 20 min walk from the station, and if you're coming up the M1 it'd be quicker to get to Leicester anyway. Few London fans do like a pub stop in MH though, a West Ham coach goes boozing there every year. Fvck knows why they choose the King's Head mind.
funkyrobot Posted 18 September 2019 Posted 18 September 2019 As long as you as you clearly a football fan (maybe put a spurs scarf in the window) you can park on double yellow lines anywhere in the city. It’s a new thing the council are trying to do to encourage more away fans to visit.
