HibiscusMark Posted 26 September 2019 Posted 26 September 2019 Wedged in between away games at Soton and Palace. I’m tired of getting smashed by Palace...

Then who knows, could draw Crawley Colchester, Sunderland, Oxford for a semi place. It will prob be Man City at home though, it usually is

I'd rather City got Soton at home than Burton away. Not the easiest draw of course, but man city won't have to break sweat to win this and won't be at the risk of any thundering, clattering challenges either!
DerbyshireFox Posted 26 September 2019 Posted 26 September 2019 Tickets in the home end for this one I should think 🤞🏻. Working and living in the area, know a few who have a season ticket. They reckon their max away allocation is 1800 but we’ll see. Our end will go quickly whatever allocation it is.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 26 September 2019 Posted 26 September 2019 Great chance to progress, and a terraced away end

ThaiFox Posted 26 September 2019 Posted 26 September 2019 As long as we take it seriously and we put out decent teams we shouldn't fear any of the teams left, with the exception of Man City, who will take it seriously. We have no European games, there is no reason we can't give this a good go. And just look at the P/L teams that have gone out. All playing mainly second string players which gives a huge boost to the lower side, knowing they have a real chance to knock out a P/L name. Don't underestimate Burton. They'll be up for this match if we turn up thinking it's an easy cup tie.

Three games that must be Wednesday are Villa vs Wolves, Liverpool vs Arsenal and Chelsea vs Man Utd. Lots of potential for TV games in there. I would guess Man City vs Southampton Tuesday and Liverpool vs Arsenal Wednesday? Know I'm biased but surely ours beats Man City 3-1 Southampton. Would mean we've got three away games in a week all on TV mind.

If we beat them, then we can also draw the easy side they were going to get in the semis as well! They've been there for the taking both times with their own weakened line ups and we've gone and weakened ourselves ever slightly too much to win the game. If we put out a strong XI at home to them we could do it and if we do we really are in with a shot. This is the biggest example of getting ahead of myself ever but you could see it all happening. Similar XI to Luton for me but they're a funny one Burton. Nigel Clough seems to be a really decent cup manager.

String fellow Posted 26 September 2019 Posted 26 September 2019 Who here remembers the FA Cup 3rd Round in 1984-5? City played Burton Albion (then a non-league team) away at Derby County's Baseball Ground. City won 6-1 with the help of a Big Ears hat-trick. But their goalkeeper got hit by a coin, and the FA ordered the match to be replayed behind closed doors at Coventry City's Highfield Road Ground. City won that 1-0. I'm not sure if the goals Gazza scored in the first game were included in his stats. In 1903-4, Burton United played Leicester Fosse in another FA Cup tie, which saw us draw away 1-1, then draw 2-2 in the replay at home, before they won the next replay (also at Derby County's ground), 2-0. I remember it well!
Foxes1 Posted 26 September 2019 Posted 26 September 2019 Will it be pay on the night as well Bournemouth were allowed to. Hope so. LOL
