astoriafox Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 My daughter is 11. Supposed to be having a 1 on 1 day and the plan was mountain biking, but due to storms asked her if she fancied going to her first football match. Couldn't get tickets as Leicester sold out. Got home tickets in the family stand on the understanding that even if we do score have to stay quiet! So we drove up from South Devon It was a brilliant experience yet at the same time surreal and a true test of holding in our emotions. Her reaction - "Daddy, that was EPIC!"
urban.spaceman Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 Congrats! My first game we lost 2-1 at home to Liverpool. I was hooked.
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 My son's first away game was Southampton. We lost 3-0
astoriafox Posted 26 October 2019 Author Posted 26 October 2019 Mine was a 2-2 drawer at Elland Road when I was 9 as from Leeds. Larry May and Alan Smith.

TiffToff88 Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 I wonder if it was any young Southampton fans first game last night too?

Probably thinking this supporting City malarkey is rather easy.....until we lose 0-2 at home to Palace next week. I'm glad she enjoyed her evening pal 👍

Yes, there is a story on the BBC about a Dad driving for 4 hours from Watchet in Somerset taking his lad for his first match. The kid is probably a Leicester fan now
Nuge Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 My first was Leicester vs Scarborough 2-1 win in the League cup which we went onto win. Good times. Jamie Lawrence and Parker pen.

Mark_w Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 It's a horrible first game, they'll never see a more impressive Leicester win in their life, you want at least some build up to that.
Tuna Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 Mine was Martin O'Neill's first game in charge a 2-2 comeback draw at Grimsby Town!
ithuriel Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 My first live game, a miserable grey wet day against Oxford at home in the season we were promoted under Little, was sat in the upper tier of the double decker and was hooked even though it was not that good a game.

Fantastic And I thought it was some of the home fans who had stayed

AyewJoking Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 So long as she doesnt think we win 9-0 all the time. We only play southampton twice a season
casablancas Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 I lost my old man one year ago almost to the day. My greatest memories are standing in the family stand with him on wet Tuesday night. Of course the trophy parade and Vicky Park trump all. The club can help form some unbelievable memories and I am proud that my old man managed to see us lift the trophy. All thanks to Vichai
sm1 Posted 26 October 2019 Posted 26 October 2019 Happy for you. I had my first experience of City back in 87, 4-1 win against Oldham, Mike Newel scored. It was all downhill after that.
