As a kid was struck by its distinctive shape and sheer Leicesterness. Spent many absorbed hours drawing it on school exercise books etc.

Never been really convinced by any of its successors...and must admit the only downside I felt about 15/16 was that the round badge (generic, ho-hum) represented us to the world instead of the 'real' one.

Writing this from just off Fosse Rd where it all started 135 years ago.

If you add 1,3 and 5 you get 9....which I believe is considered lucky in Thailand / Asia. And that's also the number of goals we scored in our recent record breaking win. Book the bus parade, it's happening!

TBF I do actually like the current badge as it has links to the city also with the cinquefoil and the fox looks great but the heart shaped one with the crossed riding crops will always be the one I remember. As you say the shape was distinctive just in itself and you could tell it a mile off. It probably helps that it was the one that we had when I was a nipper and first started going to games in the sixties.

Yeah, there was a thread on this after Southampton, 8,9 and 6 appear to be lucky in Asia in different ways / with different meanings, but when you google it there's more about 8 than any other.
