Leicester open negotiations to sign Emmanuel Dennis (Club Brugge)

Our reliable colleague Manu Lonjon reported today that Premier League side Leicester City have opened discussions to sign 21-year-old Nigerian attacker Emmanuel Dennis from Belgian side Club Brugge in the January transfer window.

The player is the top priority identified by the Foxes’ boss Brendan Rodgers in terms of a mid-season reinforcement. The Belgian side are likely to ask for between €20m and €23m

He's young, we seem to be looking more towards the Belgian league and Belgian players lately, and the national link to Ndidi/Iheanacho makes this believable. Especially as it seems to be the price range that we like to operate in.

But like you said, big pinch of salt with this as with any transfer rumours surfacing now. We've dropped the likes of Everton/West Ham/Wolves so we're going to be the 'unique' club that gets linked by any and every agent wanting to increase a transfer value or get an improved contract. It's also very early for rumours to come about that actually mean anything - the only one I can think of from recent years that we've been involved in was Ndidi.

Nigerian striker you say, what could possibly go wrong?

He'd be our fourth Nigerian striker in our history I believe.

Youngster from Belgian leagues like Ndidi, Tielemans, Praet once were?

What could go wrong...

Some absolutely Okazakiesque finishing against Real.

Actually almost got a hattrick and all of them were borderline accidents.

Get him in.

Honestly his second goal was an amazingly controlled finish considering he was falling over, like Kane's goal against us. His first goal, though... That was so funny
