I thought the paint and lights had to be removed before selling on? What a cvnt. Would be so easy to drive down a busy street with an IED or something in one of those.

The lights and sirens should be removed but people can buy them online. The reflective decals need specialist removal. It's an offence to "impersonate" an emergency vehicle. I can only imagine he acquired the vehicle through some dodgy deal and the ambulance was originally owned by a private ambulance company. When NHS ambulances are decommissioned they go through a thorough process before they go to auction.

France murders: Man with hatred for HR suspected in attacks

A man held for the murder of a human resources manager in south-eastern France is being linked to earlier attacks on HR managers elsewhere.

There seems to be surprisingly little media coverage of events in Russia. Might all fizzle out, but could become a big story if not....

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-55827509

"Filip Kuznetsov spent an entire night crammed into a police van with 17 other protesters because Moscow's detention centres were all full. He was among a record 4,002 people arrested across Russia last week, as large crowds took to the streets to demand the release of the opposition politician Alexei Navalny. Further protests have been called for Sunday, threatening to strain the system even further".

HR = Human Remains.

As the old saying goes...

Those who can, do

Those who can't do, teach.

And those who can't teach, go into HR

This cropped up on reddit the other day, but in the comments someone posted a Czech news article with an interview from the lady in question.  She did use her charms on him but it wasn't as happy go lucky as that article makes it sound.  She didn't just waltz in and stop the robbery with her tits, he dragged her inside thinking she was an employee who could open the safe, beat her a bit and then she turned to seducing him out of self-defence.  Not as funny as it first sounds.

Good find and it is the Toronto Sun so take it for what it is. Never a good idea to be in that situation.

I think you may have misunderstood the purpose of HR.  They serve the organisation not the employee.  They are also generally not responsible for the swathe of compliance requirements which it is their job to monitor.

New lockdown+ ash raining from the skies from a bushfire, glad 2021 is here right lol

It's only a few days stop moaning.  If you make me feel any better my cousin met a certain security guard in the course of her job a week ago and is now self isolating for 14 days :(

I would suggest (in my experience) that many HR people create extra processes and compliance in order to justify their existence.

I know there are some fine and noble HR people out there (my sister for one) but many are no more than internal police and general lackeys who do the shitty part of line managers' jobs for them because they're afraid to say no.

If most managers were properly trained and properly accountable, we wouldn't need half the HR population IMO.

I will maintain through personal experience, the HR staff I've dealt with, on both sides of the coin, seem to dislike employees and will do whatever it takes to make their life at work uncomfortable at the very time when those very employees need support. I was at one time responsible for contacting staff that were off sick, every 2 days and completing their sickness records and referring them to OH. The pressure HR put on me to try to get (force) those people back to work was quite stressful. Threats of salary cuts after x number of weeks off sick for whatever reason. HR would refuse to accept that some were off with injuries caused at work which was different to a general illness.

I get that they were following policy but there was a total lack of sympathy. I couldn't deal with that so I decided to move back to the front line of ambulance work.

HR's goal is like virtually all in business, especially management, is ti ensure the company makes money. HR lets the management know what they can get away with and how they can get the most from (exploit) their employees.

As am employee....Never go into a meeting with HR thinking they are there to help you.

I know we won't agree on the motivations of management, or that running a business as well as possible is what keeps all the employees in jobs.  You are right on HR though, they are absolutely there to get the most from the employees of the company.  However nearly everyone these days understand this means making them happy, feeling motivated and committed to the company and it's goals.  Sometimes it also means supporting reorganisation and redundancies.  I have been on both sides of that and it is never nice, but it is often necessary for the health of the organisation.

Can we put recruitment consultants in the same box please?

Either there's a chart labelling error or we need to be looking to the world of comedy for the answer to manipulating the space-time continuum... Jimmy there with an incredible 475% of his set time accounted for by laughs, even the lowest score leaves with them making a remarkable 180% of their set lol

I'd think Acaster and Gervais should be higher.

I would move the list round based on my opinions for sure, but then humour is subjective. This is based on just asking people opinions, they've recorded data. I mean it's not perfect, it all depends what bits they've shown the participants of the study, but I still thought it was interesting.

I'd move Gilbert, Acaster, Gervais, Bridges up and Millican, Izzard, Kay, Kumar, Whitehall, Allen, and Bailey down. I don't mind Gamble, but maybe not top 5. Also a few that don't even get in the top 20 would for me. Stewart Lee, Jon Richardson, Sean Lock, Rob Beckett, and I might even include Jo Brand.
