If the vaccines protect against the variants and the majority of the vulnerable have now had their jabs then I'm speechless what the issue is. If its for the ones who haven't had the vaccine thst are vulnerable then we are never getting out of this, it's like being a hamster on a wheel.

Assuming the vaccines work then I doubt we'll see any more lockdowns or restrictions. We won't grind the country to a halt to protect a small minority of people, it'll have to be upto the people themselves, friends family and local councils to find ways to support them.

As long as the NHS isn't at risk then we're golden I reckon. If there was any bad news, we'd hear about it asap. At the minute all negative stories are just potential bad news.

Anyone still following these rules is absolutely mentallol

*Unless you've got an old relative who's not been jabbed or something*

There's still plenty of people that wear a face mask when outside.

Wonder what it would take for these people to stop wearing them. The numbers aren't going to get any lower than they are now, are they just going to wear them indefinitely now?

Same with the people who dive out your way when you are out walking. Less in numbers now than in the winter but still not rare to see someone when we are out walking crossing the road to avoid us or taking refuge on someone’s drive whilst we walk past. Surely they are done for life. They’ll never get over the fear them types.

We all have different levels of confidence / fear, and we will all emerge from this with different levels of anxiety.

Why is this news? It's basically the news that an old man has died. It even says its unrelated to the vaccine. All this does is feed the narrative for anti-vaxers, because they’ll connect it to the vaccine even though it says its unconnected.

WTF is going on??

Last time I heard they were knee deep in ****, literally, combing the stuff for cases.  Desperate times call for desperate measures in order to keep the case numbers up.

Also an admission at the weekend that mask wearing is normality moving forwards, according to Priti Patel.

As for today's shambles, there is nothing in the data, nothing at all to suggest a problem and the need to follow restrictions which were, which now aren't.

What was concerning though was the line from govt suggesting a 10 day isolation for anyone coming into contact with someone who tests positive despite being vaccinated after June 17th.

Don't generally give vaccines to dead people, so no.

That's just ridiculous, lazy journalism.

I assume the basis for this decision (now reversed) is this:

Surge testing will not see a further drop off.  More likely pick up false positives.  Can't see the current trend lowering any further.  This country/UK govt has an obsession with testing.

Basically people need to get vaccinated and stop with the testing otherwise I see no end to it.

I've had the first dose and took 3 test in all recently  because of the FA Cup.

Luckily all 3 tests were negative.

I'm awaiting the 2nd dose date BUT I know of alot of people(Not ALL brown people!) Who ain't having it...I find it absurd myself but hey ho

It's not just fear, it's also courtesy. They're possibly assuming YOU might not feel comfortable and so are letting them past.

I speak as someone who walks down streets for a living.
