Good starting XI but our bench looks so poor. Only real game changers are Iheanacho and Perez, possibly Gray as well if he decides to show up. Will look a bit stronger once Praet returns as well.

I was thinking that as well.

But that could just be the devil part of our attempt to transition to something greater - to do that, you need a top class starting 11, but to do that you may have to forgo a greater squad depth?

We're getting there though, will be really interested to see how Justin gets on today.

No real need for Morgan AND Bennett, same for Mendy and Choudhury, 9 subs and still no room for a youngster.

Definitely, especially considering Fuchs can cover CB if necessary. Would much rather see Hirst on the bench as mentioned above. Or Thomas in the squad over Fuchs... bit harsh for him not to make the squad after he's signed an extension though

It's Albrighton's middle name.

Vardy and Evans did a quiz together and one of the questions was who's middle name is Kevin. Neither of them knew and Vardy shouted Kevin across the training pitch.

Ah never made that connection.

I just might get one of those discount shirts with Kevin on it ... I would definitely do it if I could get exclamation points.

Nervous but excited! Expect Vards to be up for it! Looking forward to seeing what Justin can do now with a run of games.

I agree -- but I also think the manager has a squad of senior players that haven't been in a competitive game for three months. Putting a development player on the bench instead of one of them the first game out might not have been the right move.

True, yeah, actually. Hopefully between now and the end of the season though we see some "promotion" in that sense.

I also think once certain transfer issues become apparent, there won't be a need to placate those members of the squad.

Good shout.

I'm looking forward to Vardy against Kabasele. In previous games Kabasele doesn't like pace too much. Get in behind him and he'll be done for pace or he'll try and bring him down.

Not sure I agree with this part - Morgan's the club captain so should be in the dressing room - and Bennett, could be a useful pick up for us not just for the back end of this season but for next. May not be a glamour name, but is clearly a solid pro and should prove reliable if called upon.

I know there's an argument you could use Fuchs as centre half cover if desperately needed, but when you can name 9 and use 5 subs, not having these guys in the lineup for the first game back would be strange - it's not the scenario to be chucking in youngsters yet.

Also depends on how he perceives the fitness of the starting 11, he has no real idea how this game will pan out whose on form or not, there may also be some physiological reasons for including the likes of Bennett and Mendy if he wants them to sign contracts.

It's rarely a simple decision.
