so many good deals being done

By clubs other than us

Don't panic, Congers is back from Holiday today. The fax machine is on and ready to roll and the Club's Carrier Pigeon is perched and ready to fly.  You can track it on Flight-tracker under call sign 'Congerair 1'.

Sorry but how is this a "Good deal"?

Why do people actually assume we actively want all players we are linked with? No matter who the player is if they sign for someone else it's "WE'RE SIGNING NO ONE CONGERTON OUT","ALL OTHER CLUBS DOING BUSINESS BUT US" when they're really ****ing not.

Why do people have no patience?

...well we have yet to add to our roster!!!

This period is quite an exciting time for supporters, fanciful as their expectations may seem.

Eze going for £20m is obviously something we can easily afford but not necessarily in the managers thinking.

Just speculation and part of being a supporter!!

Regardless of his individual quality, and how he would fit at Leicester, he is still widely considered to be a "Good Deal" because of his release clause triggered by Wigan's relegation. In January, Wigan agreed to sell him for 6M plus add ons to AC Milan. During the medical, they found a heart issue which caused the transfer to fall through. He had surgery to correct the issue, and would have likely been sold for similar money, but because of Wigan's point deduction/relegation, his release clause triggered for 2M.

So?

Why do we need Eze? What makes you think he'll strengthen the team for a large outlay?

Just because we finish in the top 5 supports expect us to turn into Chelsea/Man City and make a new signing every week?

People see a player linked to a club and just hound the club if our name is not one linked - expecting us to sign every Tom, Dick, and Harry that might be available for a lot of money.

There is still 2 months of the window left. Myself, and none of you have absolutely no idea what is going on inside of the club in terms of trying to get players in, they're obviously going to be doing as much as they can to try and improve the squad whilst not blowing tonnes of cash like we have done previously in the process.

Terrible way of looking at it. Have you actually seen him play? Or are you basing his ability off of a failed transfer to a large italian club? Just because we buy a young championship player for example 2M doesn't automatically mean he'll come good and we'll make a profit. We do have a promising left back already and why should we expect for this guy to come in and start playing right away? We need to be targeting top quality that is going to progress the club in Europe and beyond. This is not football manager and our club are obviously not going to buy a player just to make a quick profit.

..why are you so angry!!!

My statement that we have yet to add to our roster is a statement of fact.

My example highlighting Eze was in essence supporting your post in respect of names being thrown around,(read it again).

If you can just get over this complex you are displaying, you might get to understand the gist of this conversation.

I never realised he is already 23, I thought he was around 20

If Chilwell goes we will most likely be signing a new first choice left back, then we still have Fuchs and Thomas

I don't think there would be much point in us signing him to be honest, Fuchs will be fine for this season as 2nd choice if we send Thomas out on loan, then the season after when Fuchs probably leaves Thomas should hopefully have a season of first team experience to come in as the 2nd choice

BLADES' £2M ROBINSON BID ACCEPTED

Wigan Athletic have accepted a bid of around £2m from Sheffield Utd for left back Antonee Robinson.

The former Everton defender, who was on the verge of joining AC Milan before a problem with the medical stopped the deal going ahead, is expected to agree terms with the Yorkshire club and complete a deal this week

Wigan need to sell players with the club in administration, to pay wages and football creditors with a number interested parties looking to takeover the League One club

I think if you dislike fans of the club speculating about potential players to sign or potential targets then a Leicester City online forum probably isn’t the best place to be.

Calm down and go on another thread if you don’t like it.

Yes, he's one of the US National Team's left backs, so I have seen him play a lot. Right now, he is one of the better fullbacks in the championship, and he's 22. I don't know what transfer cost you think a good championship fullback goes for, but it's not 2M.

50k a week he's on apparently! Looks like Fulham have learned nothing from their last ill fated spell in the top league. The lad is meant to be a good player but come on, 50k per week!

Mate, we have people who didn’t even make our premier league squad on more than that. it’s not that much anymore in the premier league..

For a guy who was probably on peanuts at Wigan, a team who got relegated from the Championship it's a lot. To put it into perspective the average wage for an EPL player is 60k per week so by that standards it's high as it's almost average and he's never kicked a ball in the premier league.

oh for sure it’s a lot for him, but it’s the going rate for a decent player in the prem.

To be fair, he was offered 40k by Milan in January, so had something to go in with.... also it's a transfer that ordinarily would have cost between 8-12m, so the wages are reflective, as they are with a free transfer.

It’s a fair amount of wages for him but that’s the beauty of having a low release clause and plenty of interest. With a relegation clause in (assuming there is one), that’s good business all around.

If Fulham go down, they’ll get a decent whack for him (or keep him on lower wages. If they stay up and he’s done well. They’ve outlaid £7m in the first season for him, his value will be about 10x the £2m fee they paid.

As long as he’s not an absolute flop, £2m fee and £5m/yr wages, I’d think by the time they sell him Fulham won’t have made any loss on him at all.
