Well, yeah, absolutely.

 

Everyone was encouraged to be careful and there was lots of fair warning, but we do have our fair share of dullards here who just don't get it.

The thing is though nothing bad was actually said just people wildly speculating. I saw nothing posted that was worthy of the thread being deleted. In fact people were being very careful not to even post certain bits of speculation.

I thought it was a load of absolute rubbish with some people implying they were ITK which was rather annoying

Most of it was rubbish but it has been suggested that what was being said was libellous and I don't see how it was. Just because a thread may be annoying to some people it doesn't need to be deleted, those people could just not read it.

No, I suggested people rein it in BEFORE  it became libellous. Not quite the same thing.

the withheld knowledge of a tweet did the most harm. Why do people feel the need to say they've seen a tweet but not going to tell you if you didn't want the gossip and speculation.. So them people are to blame for the thread going wild  lol

From what I saw personally and I was reading from the beginning to the point of deletion. I saw a couple of things that may of crossed the line which were quickly deleted and the rest were clearly tongue in cheek comments. 

 

It seemed to get out of hand because of a tweet people were eluding to and not actually posting. If that tweet was posted everyone would have seen how ridiculous it was, the thread wouldn't have got so messy and was not actually suggesting anything negative of the person involved so wouldn't have been libellous either. 

 

I just think there was a bit of an overreaction to what was being posted in the original thread and people are making it out like it was much worse than it actually was.
