I have no idea, but if I owned the forum and stuff like that was being posted (very salacious) and then members were throwing names around, I think I'd err on the side of caution.

I did that, I removed a few posts and reinstated the topic after @davieG deleted it, but someone decided to take it to the next level. They've been banned now but it would help if these posts are reported instead of quoting them otherwise it takes up too much time to sort out.

But once the link has been posted, people would then be repeating the information on here and in other topics. That would then mean that whoever sticks it on here and the forum owners could be liable for those comments.

 

Plus the lad who originally posted it on Twitter would have a case against him, yeah he shouldn't have posted it, but you still wouldn't want that on your hands (I wouldn't anyway).

PS. From a legal stand point, anybody retweeting a tweet that contains said content also becomes liable.

i was watchin the thread very closely and i cant figure out who said something naughty and worthy of a banning!

I suspect there has been some kind of review about how many key injuries we got last season and he's been held responsible. Just speculation though. Has it been confirmed he was sacked not just left?

That's quite far-fetched. Not every injury is a physio's fault

Not gobsmacking, important, or likely to affect our club in anyway at all. However, the tweet (since deleted) was potentially libelous, which meant it shouldn't be shared.

 

- The lack of sharing combined with the gobsmacking comment meant that many posters worked themselves into a frenzy trying to find out the content of the tweet, despite the fact that the tweet was most certainly not the gobsmacking news and would have no relevance to the lack of media output from the club.

 

- People began to post the libelous content and the thread was canned. 

 

- The club started posting media content. Related to activity in the thread perhaps? Who knows.

 

- Posters who missed the initial thread are now finding half bits of information following the thread deletion, have no idea what is going on, and the pattern looks like starting again.

 

I suggest we all go back to refreshing the transfer forum and waiting for any announcements from the club as to whether or not there has been any gobsmacking goings on behind the scenes. It'll all come out in the wash soon enough if so!

Wonder if he regrets his old usernames more tho?

We can openly criticise the Government and would not be subject to being arrested. There is not a fear of being dragged from your bed in the middle of the night should you voice a complaint. Where commonsense comes in is, the use of  prohibition, in respect of, slander, inciting hatred, that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence.

    We are not in a dictatorship.....you really need to understand this, you cant say anything you feel like, you are not the only person in this world.
