His time to shine tomorrow..

It’s the hope that kills you. Don’t expect much from him, he isn’t cut out for this.

Agree, some players when it gets hard there frustration makes them take the game by the scruff of the neck, he just sulks and walks about

Nobody in our current squad does that anyway, dunno why people expect Maddison to be different. We’re in this position because of them in the first place.

Will always stop him being a top top player

His time to shine has been and gone, it’s too late, we require snookers. For all his qualities, he has gone missing in the big games. The penalty miss was the pivotal moment, a weak moment from a weak player.

Don’t buy that about the penalty, he missed a penalty. Wasn’t an awful pen, Pickford just outwitted him.

we were still winning that game of football at the time, the team mentality from missing the penalty was weak, not just Maddison’s.

I’m not saying he could have been better in the final run in but he won’t be able to be replaced in terms of quality whichever division we are i. At the end of the day.

It frustrates me more that everybody talks about him and that penalty when in fact, tielmans was on the pitch and bottled taking it.

...he didn't,  he was not in line to take the kick!!!

He had the ball in his hands,  no player gives that up, and as captain he would have taken it if it was down to him. No Nacho on the pitch, Maddison was next in line.

With his technical ability, you would expect to see him hitting the side netting as all the top continental players do.

I’m not so sure about that. Tielmans did have the ball in his hand and to me, looked like he never wanted to take it. Let’s not forget he’s crap at penalties and goes to the exact same corner every single time.

smith came out and said Madders was above him in order but that had never been the case before as Youri always took them when Madders was on the pitch.

realistically, we could disagree all day on wether that had changed since Smith came in or he said that to protect Madders in the press and just like the conversation between Youri and Madders, we will never know what was actually said. I believe Youri said ‘I don’t fancy it’

either way, hopefully at the end of the day none of it matters and we’re both pi**ed out our arse saying how great they both are  after they get one each 😂

Powder puff straight down the middle and exactly where Pickford knew it was going. Pickford didn’t need to outwit him, because Maddison was about as dumb as you could be taking that.

i get it, Madders is the marketable superstar, but the number of people willing to give him byes on poor performances post World Cup astonishes me. But, like everyone, I hope it somehow clicks today. Part of me think he has to turn up at some point this year so why not today and go out with a bang.

Sorry since the world cup has been bloody awful.  I for one will not miss him when he leaves.  Talks the talk but on the pitch woeful.  You need fighters and battlers in  a relegation scrap Maddison is not that.

A top quality player shouldn’t be outwitted at a penalty. A top quality player puts it in the top corner and leaves the keeper with no chance, they don’t put themselves in a 50/50 position.

I’ll take all those thing apart from the contract bit. Even if we stay up, it’s time for him to move on.
