I mean he is not best going forward, but overall he is surely better than Ricardo and Justin

watching two of those defending is like watching Mahrez doing defensive duties

He was one of our better players today, much prefer him on the right again.

agree worked hard all game tbh

Yep.

Frustrated me how many times he'd try to make a run in behind their defence and was ignored.

Think he’s been quietly really good the past 2 or 3 months since he returned from injury and has been a major factor in our defence improving.

He’s our best full-back now for me.

I have to agree. Criticised him this season for failing to improve on his strong start to his career that was then blighted by a plethora of injuries and he was pretty iffy in the 1st half of the season but since he's been back he's looked much better.

I much prefer him on the right and you can tell he enjoys it there, I think he'll pop up with a back post goal before the seasons out. Came close a few times of late.

Think JJ has looked better on the left as well in recent weeks. Seems baffling that Rodgers had them switched for a while

he's a good player and I'd like to keep him but if we need to sell to buy he's a prime target, JJ and Ricardo at RB with Thomas at left back plus others who can cover means its a position we could sacrifice one

.....Castagne had a good game last night, and I prefer him in the RB position!!!

JJ is definitely better on the left and we are going to have to play and develop players in their right position even if it means making tough calls. This versatility thing has only served to make us inconsistent, and players I would think, are pretty fed up of switching ,getting a game here and there as opposed to getting any prolonged run in the team.

Happy Tim is in the team. The nasty head injury from the Euros must have affected confidence and getting injured again. Looking forward to see him in the future

I am starting to think that Ricardo and castagne on the right side, in any order, would be effective.

I like the balance that he and Justin provide on each flank as a RB and LB.

Castagne was brilliant yesterday getting up the right side and putting in some great crosses.

....if he is still here!!!

With the summer coming up and Ricardo having signed a new contract, the RB position is not nailed on for Castagne, therefore I cannot see that he would want to continue playing in a role other than RB. There are fleeting moments that Ricardo looks back to his best and Castagne's crosses and running, to support and along with his defensive work is a big weapon for our team. We have made our choice, Castagne will either have to go on the left or move on, I think he will definitely move on.

I know what you mean. Would like him to stay. I like Ricardo too but not sure if he too can stay fit for a whole season.

Easily our best full back at the minute.

I actually think he's quite underrated and seems a great professional, as already mentioned I think him an Justin at LB give us great balance.

I am really concerned he might be off in the summer though 😣

Yeah Ricardo has played a part in just 13 league games this season.

We’d be crazy to sell Castagne just because Ricardo has signed a new contract.

We can’t even rely on Ricardo playing 1/3rd of the games next season let alone starting every week.
