Pereira, Castagne and Ndidi in and 3rd or 4th could be have been a realistic possibility this year. Injuries have crippled us though and it looks like the only way we will get something from the leeds game is if we play defensive. Such a shame. This time last year (Palace Away, Brighton Away, Southampton Away etc) we were unstoppable, used to go 'mid table' sides and completely take over, man city esc really.

Yeah i agree but if we keep hovering around the top 4 and win tonight then the 2nd half of the year form with these players back could turn out to be an amazing end to the season

If we win it’s been a great start considering. I still think we’ve got a good solid team, only concern is an aging Fuchs but he’s shown he’s capable on the couple of games he’s played so far.

A win tonight would be a huge statement considering our injury list and the couple of additional Europa League games thrown into the mix.

I think we all would of taken being a point behind Liverpool after 7 games with a better goal difference when we have already had injuries to Castagne, Soyuncu, Ricardo, Ndidi, Maddison & Vardy!

I am quite looking forward to this.

Both teams have goals in them.  Both teams can be hit on the counter and can surrender goals.

So I expect a cracking match and lots of goals.  Which of course means it will end 0-0.

It's quite a strange relationship that Leeds fans had with Beckford, certainly in his earlier days.  There were still sections of the fanbase who were criticising him for being lazy, even when he was averaging better than a goal every other game for more than a season.  There are a proportion of our fans who only seem to like a proper old fashioned blood and thunder CF, which is probably why Becchio - from that era -  was universally loved.  I would say by the time Beckford went to Everton, he'd won all those remaining doubters over.  He scored the most crucial and iconic goals we scored during those dark days and i'm not sure too many folk differentiate him from Lucas Radebe, Gordon Strachan or Norman Hunter in the legend stakes, just because we were in the lower leagues.

He always behaved with impeccable dignity when at Leeds and when he left.  He wrote an open letter to the press about his time at the club and went on various radio shows just to talk about how much the club means to him and what an amazing time he had here.  It was done in a different way to some though, you could really feel he meant every word of it, it was totally sincere.

More than anything though, he just seems like a total gent, echoed by everyone i've heard speak about him who has spent time with him.  Not enough people like Beckford in this sport so they should be cherished imo :)

Edited to say - did he nark you guys off by clapping the Leeds fans after a game at the KPS once?

I loved Jermaine, fantastic player for Leeds in that era!

I remember Beckford waving at us Leeds fans during a Leicester game, also showing no interest of scoring against us. Unprofessional I know & understandable why Beckford annoyed the Foxes fans.

Jermaine - "What shirt am I wearing bruv?" lol

He showed no interest in scoring for most of the time he was with us to be fair.

Did Beckford suffer a couple of serious injuries during his time at Leicester?

Yeah Nigel Pearson perforated his eardrums screaming at him once when he refused to run in a game of football.

Nigel Pearson - 102 points

Marcelo Bielsa - 93 points

On a serious note, Beckford was a lazy bastard for us. Frustrating as there was some buzz when he signed for us, and whilst he had one 15 goal season for us the general lack of energy and piss poor attitude ground everyone down. His movement as a striker was good too which made it even more frustrating. Over the years strikers like Vardy, David Nugent, Shinji Okazaki and the resurgent Iheanacho have tended to appeal more to the fan base due to their industrious approach to games, lack of ego and high energy levels. Pearson had the likes of Beckford, Matt Mills and other shite that Sven signed out as soon as soon as he could.

On a separate note altogether, I do find Beckford surprisingly good as a pundit compared to most ex-pro's who try their hand.

Especially considering we are playing Leeds and not one of the ‘big six’ sides would prefer us to go with the first lineup. But that being said we’ve set up with the 3/5 atb away against Arsenal and Man City and Athens recently and come away with maximum points so what do I know.

In Rodgers we trust. :scarf:

Team talk sorted then.....

'Know your place' little old insignificant Leicester City.  Roll over for the mighty Leeds United (like you should have done last week against Arteta's all conquering Arsenhole.

Andrea Radrizzani has claimed that Leeds United is a “much bigger brand” than Leicester as the two clubs get set to play in the Premier League on Monday night.
