Qatar, Etihad, Turkish, Singapore. Raised the bar to another level. Had 17 hours on a BA plane to Buenos Aires in November, once you've flown with a proper customer-focused airline you cannot set foot on the tired, cheap and naff concept BA push out. Dreadful airline.

Anything under 5/6 hours doesn't bother me. Pretty much a bus at that time length.

The A350 club suites are good on BA. Their fleet age I agree isn't anywhere near Qatar or Emirates, best plane I've been on recently was a 6 month old A321Neo, you could barely tell it was taking off

Another unpopular opinion incoming..... I quite like them..... Cheap as chips and plenty of loopholes. And if they do charge you anything extra at the gate, keep all the receipts and claim it back on credit card

How do you claim stuff back if you agree to pay it?

The worst budget airline is Wizzair.

We went with Wizzair to Cyprus a couple of weeks ago.

Couldn't fault them tbh and had a much better experience than with EasyJet and Ryanair lately.

Maybe just caught them on a good day.

I like Ryanair. Easily my preferred budget carrier.

Wizzair on the other hand..

Another vote for Ryanair. As long as you read the details and comply with what you've booked, it's grand. Unfortunately, people don't and then complain. These are the same people who are surprised they can't take 500ml bottles of shampoo through security and are still wearing a belt going through the scanner

Will give the bloke who was surprised he was his denied 4 x cans of lager at security, who promptly stood a drank them a 'fair play' lol

Also, another vote for Emirates, used Etihad last year and quite disappointed as, I expected them to be on par.

I suffer from hemiplegic migraines - always scary. I felt okay all of yesterday, did my lunchtime run which admittedly was high intensity but felt fine after lunch etc Then bang, the aura begins, eyesight all over the place and then the loss of feeling to one side with a dose of confusion, slur words. They are torture until they subside into a dull headache. I managed to catch early yesterday so I got the medication down me asap

Today I am in a right migraine hangover/postdrome. Body feels fatigued and struggle to concentrate.

Had the (dis) pleasure of visiting a friend in Coventry overnight, which would be my first time in the city proper rather than their crappy stadium which may as well be in Nuneaton.

Good lord what a dump. I wasn't sure if the tales about the centre were exaggerated but nah, it really is like they cobbled together all the worst bits of Birmingham's 60s concrete hellscape into one car-centric monstrosity. There were some very sketchy characters around once night fell too. Loads of roadmen, far more than I'm used to seeing in town.

Even the suburbs are just... Nothing. I took a wrong turn driving out and ended up in Radford, which is supposed to be a 'nice' bit of town but as it turns out is just miles and miles of... Well, nothing. Just endless rows of semi-detached houses with barely any amenities or proper transport connections. Yuck.

It's the only time, besides our recent trip with the foxes to Walsall, that I've realised that - while Leicester is far from perfect - it could be so much worse.

My wife is a big sufferer but more so due to hormones and time of the month, she can get anywhere from 1 a week to maybe 4 a week depending on different factors - can easily get through a cpl of packs of triptans a month too. Sympathise with you as Migraines are horrific and I've seen first hand the effects they can have on you physically and mentally.

She has a Cefaly device and migraine botox every 3 months too.

I had a crippling migraine whilst driving in Belgium late at night in pouring rain, had to stop as couldn’t see anything other than bright hazy light, head throbbing followed by vomiting.
Wife took over the driving and we went straight to hospital (I thought I was having a stroke). They examined me and came to the conclusion that I needed glasses…

Turned out that my migraine was bought on by my deteriorating eyesight coupled with the darkness and rain.
Confirmed by ophthalmologist when home who prescribed glasses for driving. I put it to the test by driving without them and within 10 minutes my head pounds and flashing lights appear. Never happens when I wear them.
Never had a migraine before this and never want one ever again…

Horrendous experience.

Coventry, as it always has been,

Ghost Town, The Specials from 1981

This town, is coming like a ghost town
All the clubs have been closed down
This town, is coming like a ghost town
Bands won't play no more
too much fighting on the dance floor

This town, is coming like a ghost town
Why must the youth fight against themselves?
This town, is coming like a ghost town
Government leaving the youth on the shelf
This town, is coming like a ghost town
No job to be found in this country
Can't go on no more
The people getting angry

Keir Starmer is turning into a very good PM.

I’ve voted Tory almost all my life, so saying this isn’t to be taken with a pinch of salt

He made a complete and utter hash of the two tier policing etc at the start of his term, but since then he’s ticked a few boxes where I’ve been banging the same drum for years.

The latest, the NHS needing reforming is absolutely bang on. He’s only getting away with it because he’s Labour though.

They are doing good work for house building when it comes to planning. Just need something for first time buyers.

Im not convinced at all by that.

I can't see it will make any difference except to increase urban sprawl and the reliance on cars.

Halving the housing targets in cities is criminal and isn't getting called out enough.

My guess is there will be less homes built in this 5 year parliament than the last one and there will be a higher proportion built in the car reliant countryside areas.

I think a lot of it will be down to implementation of these ideas.

I saw that Labour are changing the impact some of the statutory consultees will have on development as one example. This could help but it could also turn out to just be a back door to help push development through.

They've also mentioned increasing affordability percentage targets on these 'grey belt' sites. In theory that's good, but the targets aren't enforced enough as it is because developers just pay off all of the LAs anyway.

I saw that they have proudly ditched Sport England as a consultee, how often are they consulted that its going to make any difference?

Unless they are going to dilute BNG, double the number of planners or kick highways into responding in under 6 months then I doubt that will help either.

They are improving the planning system for house builders though.
