I went to an evening with Jeremy Corbyn tonight. Whether you agree with his politics or not, you have to admire that he is a man of principle who got into politics for the right reasons and genuinely wants to make a positive difference to people's lives.

You ok

Corbyn - we need to leave the Single Market to stop businesses "importing" EU migrants

Deeply stupid man

I was never a fan of Corbyn’s foreign policy and his ideas to trash Trident especially look dumb now given the world we’re in.

But he was still a clearly miles better choice than Boris and his brutal hard Brexit were in 2019. Corbyn I think campaigned on essentially having a similar relationship to the EU as Norway did.

The quote above shows he didn't support any kind of Norway arrangement, although his EU policy was totally incoherent at the best of times. I don't think he really understood it any better than Johnson did.

He was a Europhobe like his mentor Tony Benn. I am sure they didn't like the fact that Eastern Europeans rejected communism and embraced the EU, and that their living standards rose massively as a result. If he wants to talk about the "importation" of migrants "destroying" conditions for British workers fine, but it suggests after his recent comments on the "language of Enoch Powell" in parliament that he isn't quite as honest and principled as the followers of his cult like to think he is. Either that or, more likely, he's not very bright.

Would agree though that he was a better choice in 2019, though of course we were not obliged to vote for either and millions of people didn't.

Not sure on the above comments praising Jeremy Corbyn's supposed "decency." Holding inflexible ideological beliefs is not, in itself, a mark of decency — and in many historic cases is extremely dangerous.

As you mention he played a significant role in the Brexit outcome by playing lip-service to the Remain campaign when we all know he wanted to leave as per the link. I'll never claim he was at all responsible for the antisemitism issues that dogged the Labour Party during his time, as I believe it was a convenient stick to beat him with despite it being untrue, but his handling of the response to the ECHR report was a disgrace.  No accountability or leadership, just stuck his fingers in his ears and pretended it didn't happen. He still won't recognise it to this day

The arrogance, product of his unmoveable beliefs also left us stuck with that absolute prat Johnson for longer than we should.  I don't consider him in the slightest bit decent as I don't any extremists on the right/left of politics and to view him with rose tinted specs after he's long gone is just weird.  He was a disaster then and he remains so.

Absolutely.  I'm convinced that had he embraced "remain" with enthusiasm, as I believe a majority of Labour Party members wanted him to do, then it would have more than tipped the balance by persuading more Labour voters to follow his lead.

His weak, conceited and unprincipled leadership enable Brexit to prevail and opened the way for the likes of Boris and Truss to lead us into the current mess.

Find an accusation of Corbyn (for all his faults) being arrogant very difficult to swallow in the face of the institutional arrogance, dogma and prejudice across the board which our country wears like a badge of honour.

Yesterday I heard a group of Ipswich fans chanting about Starmer and then later on in a pub a Leicester fan chanting about Farage. You never used to get this sort of thing did you.

I'm afraid that a certain demographic now feels represented.

What the likes of the odious Rachel Riley tried to falsely reduce him to was utterly disgusting at the time too.

She's horrible. Can't stand her.

I’ve just found out that that old Radiohead music video from the 90s for the song Just where everyone lies on the floor has been solved.

Apparently he says “I’ve seen a way” and all the stuff he says is about Jesus and bible quotes and the video was about following false prophets.

If you have a Tesla, I hope you don't chip/crack your windscreen

My sis in law did and a replacement costs £2,500 and has to be fitted by Tesla technicians because of the inbuilt camera and other sensors that need to be recalibrated. In the meantime the car doesn't auto brake or maintain the collision avoidance systems as the sensors are connected via the distance sensors within the main body but also in the hidden edges of the windscreen.

Apparently.

There's also a min 2 week wait.

Obviously the insurance will cover the majority of the cost.

But jeez.

Calibration used to be an issue but it's fairly simple nowadays. Autoglass do the fitting, don't know why they told her that Tesla need to do it. I've seen plenty on the forums that Autoglass have done. Maybe it's just that her local Autoglass branch is useless.

Most recent issue I heard is having the glass in stock.
