I’ve actually kind of warmed to him. Did fine today.

Sure, he keeps it safe but that’s OK. Far from our biggest concern IMO.

Get him off set plays though. Honking.

have to say, hes poor, incredibly limited full back, unbelievably one footed, like hes scared to even use his right

has massive brain farts within games, like some of the challenges in the Cov game, like what was he thinking at times, that push on the cov winger like why and then gives away a free kick in a dangerous position

he'd be a decent back up but no way should he be a starter

I disagree, for the most part. Having SM ahead of him, Soumare as the cm on his side, it can't be easy. Seems like he's left with little support

DeSilva didn’t outshine him other than maybe has more pace & Bidwell isn’t any better than him.

Which LBs in the championship are so far ahead of him they make him look as bad as this forum thinks?

To be fair, I thought Burrows (6 defeats from 6 at Sheffield Utd) and Davis (bottom half with Ipswich) would be the best LBs in the league but Thomas up there.

Then you look at the sides at the top, Middlesbrough have Matt Targett and Stoke have Aaron Cresswell. This forum would have been disgusted if we had signed either of them so yeah, I agree with you really. Be interesting to see who people think is better in this league.

Not to say we couldn’t find someone who fits our system better if we cast our net a bit wider though.

He is one of the 3 absolute concerns with soumare and Ayew - all absolutely cr*p

He was fine today, like everyone I would love it if we had a marauding left  back who is also solid defensively but by no means did he have a bad game like some are making out.

No he really wasn’t - the other 3 defenders are proper decent - he is useless - don’t make excuses for it - expect better

Id put Mavididi above all of them on the useless list (not based off yesterday alone)

I definitely agree his form is honking - must get dizzy doing them stupid step overs and falling over his own feet - seems bereft of confidence and it doesn’t suit him - why he didn’t hit the James pass first time is beggars belief

Yh Faes and Vestergaard who kept passing the ball to the opposition in the second half are proper decent whereas Thomas was useless  I'll have what youre smoking

None.

I don't really rate him but I think he'll probably be OK as a safe, steady full back if we have Ricardo on the opposite flank and players like Winks, Faes and James (i.e. players who aren't afraid of the ball) in the side. Between Thomas, Choudhury, Okoli, Skipp and Soumare there were just too many players who were at best unadventurous and at worst outright uncomfortable in possession.
