Statistically one of the worst full-backs in the Championship for winning his defensive duels.

He’s an opposition wingers dream. Dribbled past 17 times this season too. In the bottom 4% when it comes to this stat.

Does anyone have a list of left backs to have made their debut for Leicester AFTER Luke Thomas made his. I'm just curious to know who has come and gone in that time and who might have been playing their instead if we had kept hold of them

This stat is a bit misleading. I've seen him back off a winger from the touchline to the 6 yard box.. definitely wasn't dribbled past!

Terrible player. Wilder knows him well and just targeted him, eventually they got 2 goals from that side. Then we have those pathetic long throws that lead to nothing. We need to send him to Newport, and let Fuchs give him some 1:1 coaching.

The lads an absolute embarrassment. Looking at his demeanor on the pitch, I truly think he knows how far out of his depth he is too. It's like watching a boxer getting pummelled for 11 rounds but the ref won't put him out his misery and stop the fight.

This is a lad who went out on loan to Sheffield United, only to get dropped, sent back out on loan to Middlesbrough in a league below and got dropped after a handful of games there too. But yet here we are a couple of years later and hes starting every single game for us.

Honestly, it sickens me to see what we have become and Thomas is just a symptom of a much bigger problem. Top should hang his head in shame for what hes done and continues to do our football club.

It's why a small part of me feels harsh saying this because I think he's probably well aware. It's almost unfair on him to throw him out into this situation when he's absolutely miles off being up to it.

Thomas getting a four year deal totally sums the club up. He wouldn't get four years at Colchester or Barnet.

That's a well trotted out line - but unlikely to be correct.

Whilst Luke Thomas was being humiliated at Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, VK was qualifying for the Champions League at Bologna (or whoever it was in Italy)

We can argue about subjective views on his ability all day, but factually VK is taller, quicker, stronger.  For those attributes alone, he's way above Luke.

I was kinda being tongue in cheek.  The point I was making really is that we don't only have the worst left back in the league, we also have the second worst too.

Would be intrigued to see those below him's attacking stats. Fellows, Small for example will be absolutely miles in front so it's somewhat forgivable (Fellows isn't a full back anyway). Thomas offers us nothing defensively or offensively.

Just amazing that this manager will throw him out again next game. It's not just him - most of that side need dropping. He will unironically play a very similar side, same system and everything. This manager has given up and should be sacked.

Needs taking out the team for Monday, without question.

The hate he is getting isn't nice to see, and I do think it goes a bit far but it is fair to say he isn't good enough to be modern full back at any reasonable level. Doesn't have the physicality or speed required.

Doesn't help that we must have the quietest back-line I've ever seen, I don't think they talk to each other at all.

Hamza LB job sorted. Luke is ok for back up LB but definitely not first choice, wilder and all the other decent gaffers target him every game because they know how poor he is just like Justin was last season.

It's not as glaringly obvious that it's dropping us points (yesterday aside) but it is genuinely reminiscent of Rodgers continuing to pick Ward in 2022.

It is getting there genuinely. It's even got the similarity of having a Danish alternative who isn't much good either but is still substantially better.

He's far worse than Ward. Though as you say, not as obvious.

Ward could collect crosses to a very decent professional level. And was actually Ok (enough) with the ball at his feet. Means he had two facets to his game.

He was woeful last night and at fault for 2 goals.

However, whoever plays left side is going to struggle while Mavididi is on that side of the pitch.  He never tracks back and if he does its half hearted.  The odd time he is in position people glide past him

It's any easy weakness to exploit in our team.

Left mid/winger needs sorting before Left back in my eyes

This was an absolute myth

This is true, but then we need to tactically prepare for this. Left centre back needs to be ready to cover, Skipp or someone else needs to be over to help out.

It would be a horrible looking team but we aren't good enough defensively to have a proper number 10, especially away from home against and in-form team. Skipp, Choudhury and James in a proper 433 formation so we can protect the full backs better. Doesn't help when we have Winks and Soumare sitting around doing nothing (Soumare may still be injured, can't remember)

To think Hoffenheim actually wanted to pay real money for him and take him off our hands. Clueless FC.

My thoughts exactly. Not convinced that either Skipp or Choudhury are consistently good enough long term but we have to be far stronger defensively. Could also drop Mavididi for S. Thomas, at least first half.

And they're both still dining out on a having a run of form back in 2021.

Victim of being a semi decent youth prospect in the era of pure profit.. we got £12m for McAteer.

We kept Hamza on (for another 4 years,) when he should have gone.. and the recent KDH, Barnes, McAteer sales and it's clear the club have a raging hard on for developing the kids to be sold regardless of how many fat contracts they give out.

I wouldn't be surprised if the board have mandated to Marti to include youth in the squad. People here were commenting on the lack of Nelson at the start, but imagine the conversations at board level. I've no doubt there's already an overstep re: Édouard's loan with Ruud, and now Carranza's.

Thomas is here to be sold for £7/8m+

I did have a blind spot for Luke.

Maybe because he came through the youth system.

Yesterday was a very poor performance from him.

Sorry LT, you have lost a fan.
