southfox66 Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 I think his statement clearly having a dig at the club, which tell me he's leaving probably his agent has already got potential move sorted for him, I'd be surprised if he wants to play championship football and to be honest could blame him for leaving
AKCJ Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 (edited) He's the wrong side of 30, struggles terribly with injuries and is on a good wage here. There's no way he leaves. He'll be here next season then will leave on a free (unless we go up then we will amost certainly offer him something like a 3 year deal at 80k a week). Edited 22 April 2025 by AKCJ 3
HankMarvin Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 There was an interesting article, from Maresca that used RP as an example for Reece James, who has also been plagued by injuries. By making them inverted midfielders they were reducing the load. "In terms of data, you can see that when a full-back plays in the way they used to play, up and down, they (do that) much, much, much more (often) than to go inside, covering a (bigger) distance, for the amount of times they go up and down," he said. "So for sure that way that we are using James, in some games, can help him. "Last year at Leicester we had Ricardo Pereira, that he potentially could be a top player for a top team, but because of his injuries... last year with us he played all the games, we changed a little bit and that works quite well. 2 1

Gazza M Posted 26 April 2025 Posted 26 April 2025 He is finished at Prem level. Possibly in professional football altogether if his fitness is so unreliable.

StevieH Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 We will be stuck with him next season on 80k a week. Could do with moving him on but with his injury record there will be no takers. Another cock up by the board giving players long contracts.
katieakita Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 Not one of the problems though, on a good screw so unlikely to have many suitors so can do a job and if we can get 30+ games out of him (big If) he will be an asset next season. Sadly we have very few players who look like they are even bothered. About time Seagreave and all the staff their start improving players fitness and a fit Ricky P would rip up the championship. 1

It will be 50k because of relegation deduction still way too high given his fitness issues but he is a good man to have around the place as opposed to some others 1
lcfc sheff Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 Think he should start doing his coaching badges in all honesty. 4

This 120k/week is touted around and makes no sense whatsoever at the time we gave him his new contract he was still recovering from another long term injury - it seemed obvious that we would use that to get a deal at a good rate. Remember that he had already failed to have an unbroken long run post ACL so few clubs would have been prepared to take a chance on him (and certainly not at 80k+). There is no way we agreed a deal at a similar number to madders and 20k below vards given those background factors. He was on around 80k before and my assumption is that we wouldn’t have offered more than that on his extension. The above assumes some competence at board level. Clearly that’s an open goal to argue against me but seriously - we cannot be that badly run - a ten y o wouldn’t do that. 1
FoxesFourLife Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 (edited) This seasons wage taken from Capology the green tick indicating that it's verified so would be reduced in the championship. Edited 27 April 2025 by FoxesFourLife 1
Simonb Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 Possibility of loaning him and having his wages covered, but on the proviso he's sent back to us as soon as injured? So maybe a month
Guest Lako42 Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 Hope for his sake he can get a move to a decent Portuguese club and get out of this burning building
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 Should be club captain next season with Vardy gone.

Guppys Love Child Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 (edited) Great player when fit...but that's the problem, the chap has an injurymiles loyalty card in the Seagrave treatment room. One more stamp and he gets a free mug with Darren Andertons face on it... Edited 27 April 2025 by Guppys Love Child 1
