Not a boo boy, but I don't rate Perez... just seems lost 24/7 to be

Kelechi though, I wouldn't mind seeing him start Sunday... shame he couldn't play last night... Everyone knows Vardys game plan, and to me, he looks like he's lost a yard or two's pace, and I genuinely think a rest would be more beneficial than running him into the ground before the final run in

Perez looks lost as he is rarely played in his best position. He is best at number 10 or in a front two, been played wide or up top on his own. Stick him in the Maddison role and see what he does

Sorry but the team yesterday still should have been goood enough to beat Slavia Prague. Vardy, Tielemans, Ndidi, Evans, Soyunchu all started.

I don't buy it's a blessing in disguise as it was a shot at winning a trophy (although I never thought we would win it). What's the point in qualiyfing for it and playing group games if it's a blessing in disguise we're out.

People need a reality check if we make the top 4 because if we can't perform over two legs against Slavia Prague then we ain't gonna do it against better teams in the CL. We're not gonna make the top 4 and then suddenly bring in 3 or 4 top quality World Class players. We're still Leicester City and it'd still be one season in the top 4. People bang on about how it would make us great and rich, so why didn't it for Spurs? They finished there consistently under Poch but still won nothing.

Why do you say that?

Vardy - not looked like a top striker in a long time

Tielemans - out of position, rendered useless

Ndidi - did what he does

Evans - did what he does

Soyuncu - did what he does

We struggle to break down stubborn defences with our best eleven out, it's unbelievable either arrogance, bordering on lack of knowledge of the opposition to think that we should rock up with a team with very little attacking threat and expect to beat Prague. They always had a chance of scoring and hitting us on the break, it was a miracle they didn't score one or two in the first leg.

I'd have expected us to struggle to break down most professional teams with that side out.

Anyway, I'd made me peace with going out once I saw our starting line up. It still annoyed me that we have such poor reserve players, but I don't hold anything against Rodgers. The squad is ridiculously stretched (because we have very weak strength in depth) and we're getting hit in key areas by injuries.

We now get the same rest as our opposition and get a little more recovery time between games, I'm still not sure if it'll be enough if we continue to pick up a bad injury every other game. At least now, there's no excuse not to go as strong as possible in every single game.

I really hope that Perez and Iheanacho get loads of game time for the rest of the season and shut the boo boys up

And score us lots and lots of goals, cos that's what they do.

Because we should have been good enough to beat them imo. Granted I don't watch much Czech football and they are on a decent run themselves and also have had good results in Europe previously (noticeably knocking out Sevilla) but we're 3rd in a better league.

Vardy not looked like a top striker in a long time? He's just come back from a hernia. Done nothing wrong in previous games. Last night looked iscolated, we could have had Lewandowski up front and he wouldn't have touched the ball.

People like to big us up but as soon as we lose and get criticised the same people make excuses.

"We struggle to break down subborn defences with our best eleven out"?? We've lost 6 in 25 all season, while having many injuries.

Last weekend majority of the same team beat a good Aston Villa team at their ground. Let's not pretend we're a mid table side.

My point about not bringing in top quality is because when we don't then how are we gonna sustain it next season? Say we finish top 4 this season then next season we're gonna be in the CL obviously. CL football, PL football and two domestic trophies... squad rotation is bound to happen again. Games might not be crammed in as much but we'd still be playing Tuesday/Saturday and against better oppostion too.

I get that it's a "long term project" which is why I made the point about Spurs. Poch got them top 4 every season and they've been top 6 regulars but what have they won in that time?

It's catch 22, you make top 4 you get more money, you invest it well and improve the squad. When everyone is fit we can compete with the best in Europe but there probably isn't a time when we will ever have a fully fit squad so its who you have in back up to step up and the likes of Hamza, Amartey under, Perez, Kel probably need replacing or then need to step up but you could trust them all in the FA cup / League Cup. We have beat 2 of the best teams in Europe this season already. We have also beat Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal and drew with United and lets be honest bar Liverpool you would expect all of them to be at least Quarter finalists in Europe this season.

Spurs made it to a champs league final, they are in a league cup final this season. Yes they haven't won anything but take out Liverpool and Man City and no one else has won anything either.

We are miles behind 6 or 7 clubs financial but it doesn't matter as long as you invest wisely and i Leicester have probably don't that better than anyone in Europe over the past 5 years or so.

It is ultimately a blessing in disguise, it is just a shame we couldn't have gone out to a more suitable opposition, because they as a club deserve nothing due to their embarrassing behavior on and off the pitch. But we simply could not carry on like we were, other wise we might have completely fallen apart.

At least now we get some rest, and don't have to travel to the arse ends of Europe to play in a cold empty stadium. Important few weeks coming up, if we can go into the last few months of the season with a near fully fit squad then we should be okay.

I do admit that I have a general dislike of this phrase but, even so, I think it's too early to say this. Even though I completely understand what you're trying to say.

A "blessing in disguise" can only be evaluated in retrospect. If fewer games results in fewer injuries, more consistent performances and, ultimately qualification for Champions League. We could, indeed, look back at this game as a 'blessing  in disguise'.

If we get knocked out of the FA Cup and finish seventh then, at best, this game will be considered as another poor result. At worst it could be the catalyst for our season falling apart.

I'm hopeful it's the former and do feel that sense of relief that we won't be expecting our players to run themselves into the ground - but we need to make best use of the advantage this now gives us against some of our competitors before we fall back on cliches (sorry, I did say I didn't like the phrase :)

The thing that’s annoyed me most is that we’ve played 8 extra games for little reason. Which has and will continue to have an impact. Don’t get me wrong - we all wanted it and it was good being in Europe. But looking back, now it’s leaving that extra bitter taste.

That's knockout football, though, isn't it? Unless you're assuming they've thrown the tie, which I don't believe for a minute.

I do get your point, and that side of it, don't get me wrong.

We have been very good this season, and beaten some good sides, which is sort of my point. It's a bitter pill when we perform like that over two legs in Europe.

yeah absolutely it was a horrible performance over 2 legs but that's the problem with 2 legged knockout football and its something we need to learn from and it shows the importance of the away leg. We lost this tie in the first 30 mins in the away leg if you ask me. We dominated the game but didn't score. If we had come back to the home game with a 1-0 lead or even 1-1 last night would have been a completely different match.

But full credit to them they soaked up a lot and hit us in the second half when we started to get sloppy and lose shape.

Personally i would have preferred to prioritize the European campaign, as we do not see European football often as Leicester fans. I am sure the club and Rodgers wanted to do as well as possible, but financially and for long term strategy is probably does make sense to focus on the league. But as a fan I really wanted a long and exciting European campaign.

That said cup upsets happens all the time and it just really sucks to be on the other side of an underdog win. I guess the amount of games we have played and our squad ravaged by injuries finally took its toll. It is a crazy season and we just have to learn and move on.

Perez would have been very useful last night with Maddison being out!

Even his bigger critics must see this. It's a bit of a litmus test for them really, denial would be telling.

Villa left massive gaps between their defence and midfield for the first 25-30 minutes, which gave Barnes, Ricardo, Castagne, Tielemans and Maddison a ricidiculous amount of time on the ball.

Okay let me flip it, in the team that started yesterday, what did you expect in terms of attacking play from us that the players on the pitch didn't manage?

Obviously we see the game quite differently, so I'm interested to see what you think.

I’m not saying they’ve thrown the tie but 1 shot on target in 180 mins isn’t the most eye watering of stats.

I'm his biggest critic as a starter for us, but have always said he has a place as a squad player (though not as a winger or striker ideally :D), even I am well aware that he would be a better option at 10 then Youri. Mainly as Youri is wasted there and Perez's for all his faults is happy to recieve the ball in tight spaces and does have a decent footballing brain.

I tend to defend Perez, even though I recognize he is limited in some respects, and was expensive given we have a top class no10 in front of him. We do need good players who won't always start.

I said we would miss him and got some laughs, but we did

It’s been good experience for the majority of this squad - for hopefully group stage football in the CL next season.

It's just that easy, isn't it?. And whether you want to hear it or not, it's a massive factor.

We should of pushed the boat out and got Eriksen on loan, a player of that calibre would of made us a lot stronger.

Not sure what else Rodgers could say tbh, but I like that phrase as a message to the players and fans.

It has been an incredible season so far and we just have to really battle now and get over the line.

A top 4 finish and knocking Man U out the Cup, I will be more than happy!

I don't disagree, but that doesn't render the 8 games pointless. It means we've cocked up, have injuries, and probably have more realistic priorities right now. If/when we have a deeper squad, then it becomes a different conversation.

We should have invested in January where most fans could see we needed a new striker because of vardy injuries  and other injuries to players but again the club dragged its heels again and bought no one.if we want to be one of the big 6 we have got to be ambitious and for godsake I don't want to hear about covid

This is so ignorant...

would you have taken chalobah? It’s not easy getting players good enough on our terms during a short transfer window.

Why dont you want to hear the truth to why we did sign anyone? get out of your fantasy world and open your eyes.

I live in a fantasy world where we all stand still and let other teams over take us have our main assets leave manager goes and we go into a backwards spiral and we know where that could end I really don't care what you say and others that agree I want lcfc to be the a top 4 to 6 club but others seem content.

No but we have a very very good scout system and should have better targets but has I said in my recent post we all knew we needed another striker
