Imo, Brendan Rodgers' game management skills are on a par with Harry Maguire's footballing skills.

Watched the game on TV and even the commentators thought it was bizarre to take KDH off!, our midfield engine went flat from that point, and when they put on 5 subs they they were a different team.

Staff mentioned Brendan could of brought on his subs slowly killing minutes and play off in the last quarter which would have been a great tactic

He said the players were fatigued towards the end of the match. Bizarre really if they were exhausted by the heat, then no way there going to compete against 5 fresh subs!

He justified the daka sub by saying that Brentford went 3 atb and then two sitting in front with everyone else flying forwards 

 

so he needed an extra body to get amongst that five 

 

but it was clear it wasn’t working after five mins so why not change again to try and wrestle back control ? Five subs allows you to do that without risk.

I'm not having that the quality on our bench wasn’t good enough in the midfield area. 

 

A baffling coaching display beyond the hour ….

This happens time and time again in a back 3 for some reason, it's as if the midfield think the extra defender means they can push higher up the pitch even when we don't have the ball. If it's energy levels thst stop the non stop box to box running then that's what being able to use 5 subs should limit, especially given how many midfielders we own. Unacceptable that is today

Of course we are not entitled to win every game. Please don't suggest that's what's going on here. Not with everyone anyway. What happened today was not us being beaten by a better team (which I will always accept and readily concede), it was us being in total control of a game (and I mean TOTAL control) and being hauled in;  out thought/tacticed by the opposition manager. That's on BR  and nobody else.

 

To go blaming technical errors by fatigued players is just ducking the real issue (and how generous of him to forgive them!) Rodgers could have at least addressed half of that issue and helped out his tiring players. But no, he makes life harder for them and pulls a player out of the middle. He handed Brentford the advantage right then and there.

 

Vardy was more active on our front post than theirs. Whatever made BR think that adding Daka upfront whilst removing one of the supply lines was a good idea?

 

I'm p*ssed off sure but my main beef is Rodgers not holding up his hand.
