What tactics can we use for the last 4 games as the current ones aren't working.

Right now, I feel Leicester's season close out is like watching England at a World Cup Final.

Southampton was the standard boring 1-1 draw we should have won against 10 men.

Newcastle was the loss against the groups weakest side.

Manchester United is the game we need to win to qualify from the group.

Everyone wants players on the bench on the pitch, the 3-5-2 isn't working, Maddison's effigy is hanging outside some pub in Evington and Brendan's on the front page of the Sun with his face on a turnip.

This feels awfully familiar.

Ditch 3 at the back, we get no width from the wing backs and everything seems to end up back at the centre backs. We're relying way too heavily on Youri to find those minuscule gaps to feed the attackers, and Maddison is non existent on his current form. We need the wing backs to be brave and try and take on a man, it's far too safe all the time, we don't currently have anyone in the starting 11 that can beat a man and it ends up just being static passing around the back with the occasional attempted ball over the top.

As mad as it sounds, I'd be tempted to start Ricardo and Under out wide in a 4-2-3-1, slightly less defensive responsibility on Ricardo may give him the freedom to get back to his best.

I ultimately feel worst for Dennis, who was playing well before his injury and i rate highly. Now he has to sit and watch this shower of shite every week and see Mendy get the call before him.

Kasper

Castagne Fofana Soyuncu Thomas

Ndidi Tielemans

Ricardo Perez Under/Albrighton

Our current tactics will be much more suited to playing Man Utd, Chelsea and Tottenham. They just aren’t great against a parked bus.

Without any wingers I don’t see what choice we have.

I never rated Gray but selling him in January has really hindered us now, we have absolutely no pace out wide with Albrighton and Perez.

Given Maddison is offering nothing I’d go with this.

                     Vardy

Albrighton  Iheanacho Pereira

        Tielemans    Ndidi

Thomas Evans Soyuncu Castagne

                Schmeichel

Which is more or less the same side we played at Villa Park and looked quite good with.

Get what you're saying, but Barnes was pivotal in that Villa game. They were terrified by his pace. Wouldn't have the same threat in transition with Marc in.

It's very hard to know what to do last 3. I'd probably stick with a 3 if Evans were fit. The lack of wide threat hinders us in a 4-1-4-1. Maybe a 4-4-2 diamond and bring Praet in

nacho up front on his own doesn’t work. We need to get away from this style of constantly recycling the ball from the back as we end up with the defence too far up the pitch as it allows the other team to get numbers behind the ball and counter attack.

It feels like we need the defenders - certainly 2 at the back - to be sitting deep to cope with counters, then a holding mid for safety, so the other players can start attacking the lines and looking for the gaps or drawing the opposition out.

Last night we were losing the ball at the halfway line and Wilson, Joelinton, Maximin all had free runs. Could have easily been 5 or 6.

Agreed, but on current form and with his confidence up, he's a better option than Vards. Alternatively, play Nacho in the 10 role, his hold up play is decent, and Vardy up top.

Last season in the disastrous run in, we had so many players starting each game that were bang out of form.  That cost us.  You can carry one maybe two players out of form in a game and hope it will come back.  You can't send 8 or 9 players on a pitch who aren't on it and expect anything other than lacklustre.  That bombed us in to the europa last season and it's in danger of doing so again.

Take today for example, we started Vardy (out of form for 3 months), Maddison (not been on it at all this calender year).

Soyuncu (not been great since back)

Ndidi (looked off it for weeks)

Ricardo (unfit?  Regardless not had a decent game since coming back from injury)

All these players are on the pitch at the same time, week in, week out.  Its no wonder we go behind constantly in games each week.

The problem we have is there is nothing really of any quality to push these players in our squad, it was our issue last year and its our issue this.

I wouldn't be having maddison, vardy, Ricardo, ndidi etc anywhere near the starting line up for the remaining games.

Swap ndidi for mendy. Vardy for perez.  Praet for maddison. Thomas for Ricardo (of even fuchs)

Get some fresh legs in there, with fresh ideas and give them the last 3 games.  It can't be any worse because we sure as shit aren't winning any of the last 3 with what we keep putting out.

Agree nearly totally with this although I'd still be loathe to put Thomas or Fuchs in against Man utd and Chelsea, theyd be destroyed. Certainly for Man utd though praet, perez and mendy have to come in for maddison, vardy, and ndidi. Their form is awful and they need to be dropped.

You can’t play a 352 with a recovering Ricky P and Marc ‘not a defender’ Albrighton as your wing backs. Insane selection by BR.

Never should be playing 3 at the back against teams we will dominate anyway. Let’s play narrow against a team which will sit in and be compact, excellent idea!!

The players were poor but if I was playing central in that team I would find it so difficult to find a pass forward or even wide because there isn’t anyone there! Guess I’ll have to play it back to one of my 3 CB’s.

I like Rodgers but I’m worried if we miss the Champs league again we will have missed a fantastic opportunity to take us one step forward. Well pissed off with his persistence of using this set up against lower half teams.

He's essentially a conservative manager who wants to retain the ball at all costs. There's no way he'll change and when the pressure comes the players look crippled with fear of losing the ball. We have to hope that the next 3 games are more open and we start to move the ball quickly and gamble in possession.

Revert to a back 4. Give Ndidi his old job back because it was so sad and painful to see him subbed last night.

It is baffling how a coach of BR's supposed brilliance can't see what 3-5-2 is doing to Ndidi' s influence.

stop playing a stupidly high line begging to get hit on the counter and stop fking about with it at the back playing the ball into danger just to "maintain control"

Given what we got for him what was it, £3 million he could of done something in the remaining games an then if Surplus to requirements allowed to leave when more time is available to replace for free, think theres something in Unders contract whereby if he plays a certain amount of games, we have to sign, can be no other reason why we aren't playing with any pace out wide.

I'm fearful that this is far too much of an attacking formation. Going on our current form it's too adventurous for my liking. Cannot stand Mourinho, but I'm thinking in our situation, what would he do? At present, the most important thing is not to concede. Then at least we still have a chance and we all know by now that that Kel is bound to scare 😊

It's all about balance. Right now we need to play two strikers to get the best out of Kel (and an out of sorts Vardy). The formation didn't do us any favours yesterday - we completely missed Castagne's runs forward and we were stumped on the left. Maddison needs to be out of the team, which means we can play Albrighton and Thomas on the left together, which I think would bring out the best in both of them.

Might prevent us leaking goals. Until we concede a corner!.

Wasn't Under warming up yesterday? Didn't see it myself but sure I heard it mentioned.
