Where's he stand now?

Martin brought regular top flight football and a couple of cups along the way.

Claudio Brought the impossible.

Nigel brought the return to top flight football and 2 league titles along the way.

Brendan now has 2 of our highest finishes with back to back top 5 and added the one we all grew up dreaming about.

Is he now our most successful manager and can he build a real legacy?

No.  He's undeniably better than Claudio but he doesn't surpass him.  He can't, not unless he wins either the Premier League or another cup or two.

For his feat yesterday, and everything that led up to it since Feb 2019, he goes down as an icon of the club. He's helped bring the FA Cup to Leicester for the first time.

That's something that can never, ever be taken away from him.

Claudio and Brendan climbed the ladder that Nige put in place. Ironically, Nige might not have been able to climb as high as those two could.

You could say Nige wasn't a (Pari)Match for the others AMIRITE :D

Ranieri

O’Neill

Rodgers

Top 3 for me, though I’m blind to anything pre 1990. Very hard to separate Brendan and MON for me though, relative longevity edges it for MON for now maybe...? In terms of who is the best overall football manager, I think it’s Brendan. Don’t think he can ever match what Ranieri did here however. This current team is also the best of the lot IMO, better footballing side than the title winners if a bit softer mentally - obvious places to improve our squad too, wouldn’t be shocked to see us in more finals next year given players we have been linked with! This is the golden age.

Purely my own opinion, ofcourse, but based on achievements only at our club...

1. Ranieri

2. Rodgers

3. O’Neil

4. Pearson

Each one of them deserves praise and respect for what they have achieved at this club.

I had this conversation with my dad yesterday.  Ranieri was the perfect manager for that one season, but Rodgers is the manager who moves the club forward into something bigger than it was before.

We were still very much provincial underdogs under O'Neil. These days we are being talked about in different circles.

Same top 4 but with Pearson ahead of O’Neill for me, not only for guiding us up through two divisions and changing the ethos at the club but also for being at the helm during the great escape without which ......

I’d go

Raneiri

MON

Brendan

Pearson

Raneiri in some ways is the worst of the 4 but what he did will never ever be surpassed and he’ll always be number one purely for the fact he gave us a miracle. And he’s just got such a nice face. MON edges second for me. It’s probably because I was younger back then and it’s easier to idolise players and managers when you’re young but that side still holds a special place in my heart. For yesterday Rodgers has to be third. What a day. In purely football terms he’s probably the best manager we’ve ever had.

And Big Nige? I mean part of me wanted to put him number 1 haha. God knows why but he’s probably my favourite manager ever. Love the big twat. X

Are you an Ostrich?

Ha, yeah he is my number 4 also. Limited, but he laid the foundations for what we are now.

The four managers to deliver the trophies, the other for dragging us from our lowest point (and providing a record breaking season).

It seems this thread has attracted nonsense about other former managers. Let's keep to Brendan and his magnificent achievement.

It was a threat designed to talk about how he compares with other former managers.
