...I must admit I have watched Bailey-Gayle and she is just a passenger in the team, neither tracking back or supporting going forward!!!

Devlin is a skilful player, can beat a man and competent on the ball, she also has no pace and she cannot get away from the player she had just beaten, because she lacks the pace to do so.

Not sure why Devlin was not getting game time under Morgan, not sure if it was a difference of opinions, but with her ability on the ball, you would have thought she would have been an option..

I think she was injured in the first half of the season tbf

Not tracking back or supporting going forwards is something that can be levelled at every player in this match.

Unbelievable again it’s see our team lose(ing) and in this fashion & start venting without really understanding any background.

The step up to professional is massive, it’s almost on par going non league to top Premiership.
The brief would have been try and stay in the league and that meant to try and stay above either BHM or Villa who are both on the decline as financial support for those 2 teams is being withdrawn to go on mens teams as those clubs boards didn’t see any financial gain in the WSL.

They knew there was going to be some cricket scores along the way against the likes of Chelsea who have Internationals in every position, no shame in that.

To also say Morgan should have stayed is just bizarre, he was totally out of depth but no failing on him it’s the jump up he just wasn’t ready for all that being in the top league brings.

Bedford is in the FA system she is streets ahead of what’s required at this level v Morgan & again it’s not a hit at Morgan it’s a reality of being professional and in the big league.

Why does there have to be an assignation of the set up did anyone really think this was going to be anything less than a big loss, this game won’t keep or drop us from this league

I mean a big loss is 4 or 5 nil and they're well beyond that. Worth remembering we'd held them to 0-0 until about the 89th minute earlier this season. I'm not really riping into the set up though, just think there's lessons to be learnt. Morgan was out of his depth no doubt but Bedford should sit them all down for an hour tomorrow morning and just put those first 5 goals on repeat in the TV room. It was Morgan-esque defending and no-one in the back line should be guaranteed a starting place after that mess.

 A learning experience then?

Nah, we knew these sorts of results were on the cards when we came up, the gulf in class is just so great. Never nice to be on the receiving end of a tonking but you take it in your stride. Hopefully learn something and move on.

the state of the squad is a huge issue, Tierney has been pretty much ever present in midfield and she's a CB due to the injuries to others, they have 1 striker available barely had enough wingers all season and their most creative player Devlin has never started a game and barely featured from the bench. I don't think 343 suits them but I don't think they have the numbers to play 3 in midfield either

In contrast Chelsea seem to have 2 internationals for every position

I’ve no doubt she will have them in as every days a school day for our players.

it’s never nice to lose I get that but when your playing against Kerr and England etc there’s no real shame as long as you learn something from it which I’m sure they will

The last time I saw someone lose 9-0 at home we went and signed 2 of their defenders, anyone in the Leicester team would be any good for our men's team.

I do wonder hypothetically speaking if sticking Big Yan in there today would have kept the score down :teehee:

What is the y axis on the top chart?

Its the delta of dangerous attacks but the specific y values dont really matter that much, since not all rball guys record DAs the same way.

Still useful for telling the flow of a game

Got to question whether the money invested here is a wise investment Millions of pounds tied up at

Belvoir Drive Who knows the cost in wages tied up in this .

A huge gulf in class and miles off a side even worthy of a top half finish

Attendances are poor and not going to improve unless performances improve

Personally it is a tough ask but think it is time to call an halt to further investment

I was hoping they'd score late on to make in 9-1 then blast out a load of Kungs for the crowd to dance along to.

Cancel all lower division and non-league football.

We’re building something and we’ve only just started.

That's not going to happen! The club knew about the gulf in class when they took control. This is a multi-year project.

Huge problem is just the number of good players -- the women's game hasn't been around at this level long enough to produce a league's worth of elite players.

LCFC seem to be signing a lot of 18 and 19-year-old players with the aim of developing them, so we can be competitive in 4-5 years time.

I disagree with you will all but your first point.

I know Belvoir Drive is probably one of, if not the best pro women’s training grounds particularly one which isn’t shared with a mens team… but I still can’t see why the club can’t sell it and move LCFCW up to Seagrave to be with the rest of the club/mens team/academy.

Surely there is space for them up there without it being cramped or fighting for pitches/pool/gym/medical etc? It still feels like they’re somehow seperate from The rest of the club.

Why are you saying cancel all lower division and non league football ? I don’t get your point.

LCFC aren’t funding any lower division or non league teams are they ?

The women have a Premier league-level training ground to themselves! That's a good thing. Because, yes, they'd be fighting for pitch time and slots with the trainers/medical staff -- that's the nature of the beast.

The fact of the matter is, integrating the academy and men's team is important: That U23 player is being developed for -- ideally -- the men's first team. Same with all the other age groups.

The women's team isn't part of that process. In that respect, they are separate from the rest of the club.

.....it is a matter of getting the balance right, regarding getting in the necessary experience and quality and the long term planning being in place!!!

The long term planning is a gamble that players will come through as expected and we cannot afford to be sitting near the bottom league for the next 4 years. Next season will be a big season for us, as Bedford and her influence in the came will be able to bring in fringe England players looking for their chance to take that step up.
