It is believed that at this stage, £50million would not be enough to bring Leicester to the table for Maddison, BUT Arsenal would allow a fringe player – such as winger Reiss Nelson – to move in the opposite direction to sweeten the deal. [@MailSport]

I'd rather consume a bathtub of aspartame thanks.

Actually think Nelson would do ok here if we were to sell Madders and take a player in exchange, not necessarily as a starter but would be a good squad option.

Leicester rejected an offer of £70m for Maddison from another Premier League club last summer and the 24-year-old then signed a new four-year deal worth £100,000 a week. That places them in an extremely strong bargaining position.

If they're not good enough for Arsenal who finished 8th, why the f*** would any of them be good enough for us?

Pay the money or get stuffed - and that will be the LCFC line too

I reckon we'll sell him. 50m goes a long way in this market. Anything north of 60m and we should take it. They've definitely got the money too.

Sounds the complete opposite of how our transfers work. Why do we want some mid table misfits from arsenal.

He will only leave if there’s a replacement…. It would be absolutely insane to sell him with no one coming the other way.

It'd just be a weird move from Maddison's point-of-view, surely? I get that there's still a lure of playing for Arsenal - but in their current state if he goes he's essentially binning off the chance of "your Uniteds" coming in for him for a couple of seasons at the very least. His stock is almost guaranteed to rise here.

We are genuinely a better bet than either Arsenal or Spurs as it stands, especially factoring in what a short career being a footballer is.

We'll know for certain if he's going when Robbie from AFTV turns up outside Seagrave and doesn't spot him training.

Maitland-Niles wants be a centre mid which we don't need

Nelson has yet to do anything impressive in his career to warrant being a starting winger for us (we don't really have the squad space for ANOTHER squad winger which is also Nelson would be AND hopefully a starting winger)

£70m+ or chuff off

Don't really want to see him go but if the club decide it's best to move him on at the right price then fair enough.

But it should be on our terms and no way should we be accepting their cast offs in exchange. £60m+ or do one.
