Keep Maddison.  Because he's a hell of a player.  He would improve Arsenal and weaken us.

Rhys Nelson looks decent.  Bit would probably need to go out on loan for regular football.

If we sell noone, our squad is nearly complete.  As it stands we need to trim one or two even though most of what we have are more than capable players

Think I’m in the minority…. Personally for £60m and a half decent prospect player I’d sell.

Just feels like he may not get on with BR, and may just end up in the treatment room long term. He’s a great player on his day, but not sure how many of those days we’ll see if we keep him.

Sorry mate but this is baseless. “Just feels like” “may just end up” “not sure” are unproven feelings not solid reasons to sell. Don’t mean to sound harsh but all these rumours about James and assumptions are a bit crazy. As is all the subsequent hate and villain portraits we’ve seen from sections of the fan base. I doubt he’s going anywhere, I doubt he’s fallen out with anybody at the football club and I very much doubt he wants to go to Arsenal.

£50m and Smith-Rowe would be my counter offer. Otherwise £75m+

Realistically we have similar strengths squads (we shade them atm). Be silly to sell them one of our best 11 for a medium price.

Bear in mind swap deals virtually never happen.

Deluded if true. As stated, swaps never happen and Nelson is not good enough to "sweeten" the deal.

Saka or Willock are but they won't let those go. So they're left with 2 choices.

1 - pay up

2 - fuch off

Selling Maddison to a club that's now below us, is not progress.

We need to keep hold of our players and strengthen.

60m will go miles in this market. You can bet the club have 2 targets lined up for 30m each to replace him - Dammsgard and madueke please.

I guess it all boils down to what a Madders really wants to do, I mean who wouldn’t want to double their wages even if it’s seen to be a step down. Personally I hope he stays and I’m even more hopeful that either Madders or someone at the club can say it’s all rubbish and put the issue to bed.

Why the hell would we sell one of our best most influential players. He is young, dynamic, skilful.

All this ridiculous speculation that he is a trouble maker, doesn't get in with BR blaa blaa.

He gets sold only if it is an amazing offer that is over the odds or he doesn't especially from a team in the EPL.

Thia is even more true if what is reported about Praet wishing to leverage if he isn't guaranteed more playing time.

Let’s think about this, Lose Maddison get Reiss or Maitland Miles.

Why would you do it?

Another Mendy,Gray,Choudhry, to sit on the bench.

You wouldn’t.

Pretty sure when we wanted Maitland Niles it was a desperate back up in a financially tight transfer window, not as someone we coveted as a long term star in the same vein as Maddison. I'd reserve judgement if this deal was actually going ahead but it doesn't seem a sensible transfer the likes of which we tend to make.

We do not stocking fillers from a team that finished below us in the past two seasons.

Why would we weaken ourselves and strengthen a 'potential' future rival?  Total non- starter.

I would like to think our Board are a bit too cute to entertain rubbish like this.

How is offloading players you don't want, and therefore not good enough for your own team, sweetening the deal, it's not. And when was the last time a player was thrown in as part of the deal.

It seems that every summer when somebody wants to sign one of our stars there is paper talk of a cash-plus-fringe player deal. And it never works out that way. If Arsenal want him they’ll need to offer £90m, which they won’t do.

I don't get why some people want to sell him despite being injured or playing with a knock/not fully for last season he still got 20 goals and 5 assists which is really good. And we looked weaker when he didn't play

He got 8 goals though? 21 goals over 3 seasons

It’s not his ability that’s the issue but his attitude tbh

Unless Smith Rowe or Saka are involved then why would we? They wouldn't take the likes of Amartey, Praet, Perez, Hamza etc.

If they want one of our best players then they can either give us one of theirs, or pay the asking price (80m+).

I was including all competitions not just prem. I get the attitude thing but most of that is just rumours maybe he has learnt from the party?

Praet is probably too good for them

in all fairness

I think it's an insult that arsenals are offering 2 fringe players and cash for Madders, they must be deluded  ,never going to happen ,

We don't need squad players, we've just signed 3 with potentially another one on the way. If anything we need to ship 1 or 2 out.

You reckon Soumaré and Daka are squad players then? I was assuming they were coming to play - guess we’ll see!
