It would probably make Southgate notice him. But other than driving his Lamborghini around London, I fail to see how moving to Arsenal can progress anyone’s career. They’re like ants at a picnic.

Urrrgh hot thread.  No reliable source. I hate transfer window it scares the shit  out of me.

I honestly don’t think Maddison will go anywhere unless it’s for silly money and not just £50k.

edited to add. Who wants any of arsenals players anyway ffs

We only have 2.5 playmakers in the squad. Selling him without planning a replacement this late in the window is senseless.

There are rumours BR is not getting on well with him but for the sake of 1 season we need to keep him.

Classic FM tactic, lump some shite ressies in to try and bump up the total value of the transfer.

Unfortunately most of Arsenal's first team wouldn't get in our first team let alone their "fringe" players lol

This is true; although if we were going to sell to Arsenal; there are one or two I might be inclined to consider.

Lots of ifs and buts anyway.

I wouldn’t take a single player. Not even for the bench.

we'd have to start being seriously linked to potential replacements over the next few weeks. then i'd believe there's something in it

Hopefully not £50k. We bought Simon Grayson for that amount from Leeds back in the day. :)

You mean like Phil Jones and 50m for Harry Maguire??? The biggest sham I've ever seen.

Arsenal are deluded. They know what we did to Utd over Maguire. I doubt £70 million would bring us to a table we really have no need to be at.

Arsenal, blud, fuch off, you got me fam?

He is coming off a pretty poor season by his standards/potential. If he stays fit and impacts games like we know he can, £60million will seem cheap.

Keep him. He is a game changer.

Reiss Nelson was decent for Hoffienheim, scoring 8 goals in 29 games I think. He’s rejected a contract offer and the chance to go out on loan again. Lots of potential but hasn’t really kicked on at Arsenal since the loan spell in Germany. He’d been linked to Brighton, Palace and Brentford last week.

He sort of fits the bill of what we might look at, in that he’s predominantly a right winger who has potential. He isn’t a heavy work rate guy like Saka though. That’s what’s stunted him I’d imagine, so I don’t see him fitting that well in with us.

Arsenal have been angling the Reiss Nelson thing for a bit; I think maybe we showed some interest some years ago.

...he is not a bad player!!!

End product is what you would be unhappy about as his delivery into the box is not that great. He is very composed on the ball and like a lot of players believes more is more as he takes defenders on instead of seeing the through ball, and playing someone in. If we could develop his game, he could be an asset and hold down the Right Wing position but I feel Matheus Pereira already covers that position, and the #10 spot too.

7 goals and 1 assist in 23 games

The problem I have with him is that has been his best season to date in his career, and all but 1 of his goal contributions came in a small period of games and he still couldn't hold down a starting place for Hoffenheim after that

Agreed. Unless coutinho comes in, covers that space behind the striker and plays 40 games this year! We could always offer him a cyro chamber as a sweetener to joining.

I reckon we'll sell him. 50m goes a long way in this market. Anything north of 60m and we should take it. They've definitely got the money too.

He'll be worth £80+ million if he stays fit this season and performs consistently to the levels we have seen he is capable of

Really? I'd take Saka plus cash for Maddison in a heart beat. Younger, more dedicated and better future prospect. Different position I know but can fulfil a number of roles and thus far nowhere near as injury prone.
