Clever Fox Posted 21 July 2021 Posted 21 July 2021 Keeping Maddison is a risk with his injuries. We don't know how he'll perform this season, he could be in and out of the team, which means his value will drop considerably next year. I'd cash in now and take one of their young players probably Wilcox plus 50 million. Then go and get the Winger we so badly need.

Walshie is God Posted 21 July 2021 Posted 21 July 2021 There is no way Maddison will leave while the tielemens situation is still unclear. We will not sell 2 of our best players in one window.

As for the makeweights, Brendan and the club won't take any rubbish, they'll know who they want. .. who they really really really want?

Can he play right wing? 😉 Edited 21 July 2021 by Stephen Hughes

I also think the Team has outgrown Maddison, as good as he is. 1

moore_94 Posted 21 July 2021 Posted 21 July 2021 Started posting Leicester stuff on his Instagram story again, could be a coincidence but I find it funny that he always seems to post a load of stuff about Leicester when a new rumour starts doing the rounds

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 21 July 2021 Posted 21 July 2021 So Arsenal think we're daft enough to shoot ourselves in the foot. They are a deluded bunch of moronic, untalented, manure.

urban fox Posted 21 July 2021 Posted 21 July 2021 If Madders were to go i think we would be all over Coutinho. Alway maintained that there would be one surprise marquee signing this year, and while Daka fits that bill i don't think that was it.
Clever Fox Posted 21 July 2021 Posted 21 July 2021 1 minute ago, hejammy said: Now that's a statement to make! Yes it is and I'm a big fan of his. But here's what I think, Leaving aside his injuries. Brendan is trying to speed up our play, he want's us to move the Ball quicker and I agree with him. That's not how Maddison likes to play, with him it's all stop start and winning free kicks etc. This was great when we needed possession of the ball, but we have other Ballers now, youri, Ricardo, JJ and Timmy and now Soumare. Yes Maddison offers a goal threat but he also lacks pace and is poor in the challenge. Which is why I feel we've outgrown him. I'm happy to keep him but I also feel we can do Better given what he offers. 1
Richardson Posted 21 July 2021 Posted 21 July 2021 I think there is to much talk about Arsenal not to have truth in it, he can double his wages and his profile. I also think we need the money to build the squad
Stadt Posted 21 July 2021 Posted 21 July 2021 Selling him is largely dependent on: - If we're planning on playing 2 up front or Iheanacho behind the striker, sell. - What the extent of his hip (?) injury is like and what the medical staff think of it, if it's going to recur, sell. - What Rodgers and the coaching staff think of his personality and his antics, if they're doubtful, sell. - Arsenal's offer, if they come in with a big fee and/or an (unlikely) swap deal with ESR/Willock, sell. He's got a lot of potential and he, along with Barnes, carried us through a spell over the winter. He profiles really well stats wise but it just feels as though it won't 100% click with him. If we're not planning on utilising him as a first choice player this season, then it makes sense to cash in because he stock won't ever be higher than now. I like having a talented group of young-is English players and he could be a player we regret selling but I dunno, there's valid reasons to keep him or get rid. 4
