Agreed, I'd want us to pursue Nelson separately. His contract is up next summer and can there's no way the tribunal fee would be more than £8m

I’d agree, I think Nelsons worth a gamble but not as a makeweight for JM.

Potentially Daka and Kelch then? But I would be surprised if Daka isn’t the main man. Vardy will be used for the big occasions and EL I think. At least I hope, I think more sporadic appearances from Vards would yield more consistent performances.

I think the opposite. I think Vardy needs consistent came time to keep his sharpness. But I suspect, dare I say it, he’s no longer the player he was. I suspect we’ll be seeing Vardy starting for 60-70m and Daka on as his sub. If Daka starts scoring he could push Vardy into the sub role. Let’s see. Then again we could play 4:3:3 with Vardy (L) Iheanacho (c) Daka (R) and interchanging.

Although I agree he is going nowhere, isn’t this just the other side of the supposition coin?

No not really, it’s a common sense challenge of forming opinion on baseless rumours!

Would you take 50m + Willock and use the £50 to fund a right winger + a young prospect like Amine Adli?

I thought Nelson would go on to be a superstar and I'd not be against us trying to get him in but we no longer go for players like that.

If Rodgers could do it with Sturridge, then he must have a chance with Reiss Nelson.  He would be a risk and could be one of those that has the ability(Nani) but never puts the hard work and is a good for only 1 in 4 games, which would be better that Gray though!  Rodgers prefers the "Silver medalist" type player, so you are probably right in that we don't tend to go for those kind of players.

With Maddison's injury record, I don't think getting rid for top dollar now is a bad option. As for the makeweights, Brendan and the club won't take any rubbish, they'll know who they want.

I’d take £10 million and Saka. Otherwise they can pay the £60 million asking fee.

So you genuinely think that Saka is worth less than Maddison??

Actually I do, Saka has only just started in the league, yes he had a good EURO's but that's it for now. Don't get me wrong though I do think he has the potential to be worth much, much more than Madders in the future.

No but we have no interest in either Nelson or Maitland-Niles, we have a player they want so it’s essentially forcing their hand to pay the asking price by chucking Saka in there. I’d take Willock or Saka if a player was included, otherwise they can pay the money.

Other than Saka (which won't happen) Willock is the only other Arsenal player I'd be interested in, although as more of a squad player to develop than a straight Madders replacement

What’s the chances of a front 3 of Vardy up top with Barnes inside left and Daka inside right? Might be why we haven’t been linked to any right wingers?

Probably unlikely but I have considered that myself. We'll be more wiser once the friendlies start.

Looks like Arsenal are now spending £30m on Ramsdale… surely they can’t afford what we would want for Maddion as well

What an odd club, selling Emiliano Martínez to Villa for 20m and keep Leno was poor business, now they are paying 30m for Ramsdale make it even worse.

We turned down £70m for Maddison last summer and he’s since signed a new contract. The price won’t have gone down.

Arsenal's young players are their best players now. Saka and Smith-Rowe as examples. Willock had a great half season at Newcastle. No way are they involved in a swap deal surely.

I'm not sure about that

Yes.

Plus Willock walked into a poor side last season and scored 8 goals which is what Maddison managed all season (his best so far).
